LKL All-Star Game
The LKL All-Star Game is the All-Star Game of the professional Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). The game is held once every year. The participants of the game are chosen in two ways: the first is via fan ballot, with the leading vote recipients at each position starting the game; secondly the reserves are chosen by a vote among the head coaches of each squad. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players. If a player is injured, and cannot participate, the league's commissioner will select a replacement. Features The All-Star Game is played under normal FIBA rules, but there are notable differences from an average game. The player introductions are usually accompanied by a significant amount of fanfare, including lighting effects, dance music, and pyrotechnics. An all-star game is an exhibition game that purports to showcase the best players (the "stars") of a sports league. The exhibition is between two teams organized solely for the event, usually representing the league's teams based on region or division, but sometimes dividing the players by an attribute such as nationality. Selection of the players may be done by a vote of the coaches and/or news media; in professional leagues, fans may vote on some or all of the roster. Mindaugas Timinskas (born March 28, 1974) is a Lithuanian former professional basketball player and basketball coach. He represented the senior Lithuanian national basketball team. College career Born in Šilutė, Lithuanian SSR, Timinskas played NCAA Division I college basketball, in the United States, at Iona College, from 1993 to 1997. Professional career After college, Timinskas returned to Lithuania. Timinskas began his pro career in the 1997–98 season, after he signed with his home town team of Šilutė. 2011 LKL All-Star Game
The 2011 LKL All-Star Game was held on March 12, 2011, in Šiauliai Arena. Time Team, composed of foreign players, played against Lietuviai, which was composed of Lithuanian players. Rosters * Dainius Šalenga was replaced by Mindaugas Kuzminskas, because of the termination of his contract with Žalgiris. * Khalid El-Amin was replaced by Rashaun Broadus, due to a serious leg injury. Mindaugas Kuzminskas
Mindaugas Kuzminskas (born 19 October 1989) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player for Pınar Karşıyaka of the Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL). He also represents the Lithuanian national team. He is 2.05 m (6'8 ") tall, and he can play both the small forward and power forward positions. Hollis Price (born October 29, 1979) is an American former professional basketball player. He is currently an assistant coach for the University of Houston men's basketball program.
