Kärstin Ehrnlund
Kärstin Helena Ehrnlund Strand (born 10 February 1959 in Karlstad) is a Swedish professional golfer. She was the first Swedish woman to join a professional golf tour and the first Swede to record a victory on an international tour. Early years Ehrnlund's father Sven-Erik was a well-known coach for the local bandy team, Surte Bandy Club, in the 1970s, playing at the highest level in Sweden. Living in the small society Bohus, Sweden, the family started playing golf at nearby Lysegården Golf Club, but soon switched to Gullbringa Golf & Country Club in Kungälv, the same club as were, future LPGA Tour winners, Helen Alfredsson and Carin Koch started their careers a few years later. Ehrnlund found more interest in horse riding at young ages, but allergy against horses forced her to golf instead. It was later found that her allergy was against hay. Karlstad
Karlstad (, ) is the 20th-largest city in Sweden, the seat of Karlstad Municipality, the capital of Värmland County, and the largest city in the province Värmland in Sweden. British Girls U16 Amateur Golf Championship
The Girls U16 Amateur Championship is a golf tournament for girls under 16 which is held annually in the United Kingdom. The competition is organised and run by The R&A. History In 2018 the tournament replaced the Ladies' British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship which was discontinued by The R&A in 2017 following the Ladies' Golf Union merger. It had been played since 1969. The inaugural championship took place at Fulford Golf Club near York in 2018, the venue that also hosted the inaugural Women's British Open in 1976. Format The championship consists of 54 holes of stroke play, played over three days with no cut, contested by a field of 90 players. Whitchurch Golf Club (Welsh: ''Clwb Golff Yr Eglwys Newydd'') is a golf club based in Rhiwbina in Cardiff, Wales. It is an 18-hole parkland course. The club record is held by Ian Woosnam with a par of 62. 1980 Ladies European Tour
The 1980 Ladies European Tour was the second season of golf tournaments organised by the Women's Professional Golfers' Association (WPGA), which later became the Ladies European Tour (LET). The tour was principally sponsored by Carlsberg, who organised ten 36-hole tournaments counting towards their own Order of Merit. There were eleven other tournaments on the schedule including the Women's British Open, organised by the Ladies' Golf Union. Espirito Santo Trophy
The Espirito Santo Trophy (World Women's Amateur Team Championships) is a biennial world amateur team golf championship for women organised by the International Golf Federation. The inaugural event was held in 1964. It was instituted by the French Golf Federation in an agreement with the United States Golf Association. It was planned by Lally Segard, at the time known as Vicomtesse de Saint Sauveur, from France and Mrs. Henri Prunaret from America. Segard also asked her friends Ricardo and Silvia Espirito Santo, from Portugal, to donate a trophy for the event, which they did. They had originally bought the golden cup, which had belonged to Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, for an international Portuguese event that was not played anymore. Charlotte Montgomery (born 24 August 1958) is a Swedish professional golfer. She was one of the two players, who were the first female Swedes to play collegiate golf at a university in the United States and she was the first Swede to qualify for one of the main golf tours in the U.S. Early years Montgomery was born in Stockholm, Sweden, as the second of three daughters to Henry and Barbro Montgomery.
