Kouvot Players
Kouvot is a Finnish professional basketball team based in Kouvola. Founded in 1964, the team plays in the Korisliiga and has won the national championship four times: in 1995, 1999, 2004, and 2016. The team plays at the Mansikka-ahon urheiluhalli. Korisliiga
The Korisliiga is the top-tier professional basketball league in Finland, comprising the top 12 teams of the country. In its current format, each team plays all other teams two times in the regular season, once at home and once away, for a total of 22 regular season games. The top six teams advances continues to upper stage and the bottom six teams plays lower stage after 22 games, 5 games at home and 5 games at away versus all other teams in stage. The best two teams from lower group joins to playoffs with upper group teams. Playoffs are played best of seven format, except the quarter-finals which are played best of 5 format. Pantterit holds the record for the most league titles won, with 14. The top level Finnish league for women is the Naisten Korisliiga. Kouvola () is a cities of Finland, city and Municipalities of Finland, municipality in southeastern Finland. 2015–16 Korisliiga Season
The 2015–16 Korisliiga season was the 76th season of the top professional basketball league in Finland. The season started on October 3, 2015 and ended May 11, 2016. Kouvot won its fourth national championship this season. Teams Namika Lahti left the league after the 2014–15 season, because of a bankruptcy. 2018–19 Korisliiga Season
The 2018–19 Korisliiga season was the 79th season of the top professional basketball league in Finland. Karhu successfully defended their title to repeat as Finnish national champions. Format The eleven teams played four times against each one of the other teams for a total of 40 games. The eight best qualified teams joined the playoffs and the last one played a best-of-three relegation playoff against the First Division runners-up. Jason Conley
Jason Conley (born July 21, 1981) is an American retired professional basketball player who last played for the Helsinki Seagulls in Finland in 2017. A shooting guard and small forward, Conley is best known for being the first freshman to ever lead NCAA Division I in scoring. Early life Jason Conley was born in San Antonio, Texas, and attended Montrose Christian School in Rockville, a perennial national high school basketball power that has sent many players to the Division I and professional levels. He did not catch many college basketball recruiters' attention, but Virginia Military Institute, a small Division I university located in Lexington, Virginia offered him a scholarship. Antti Kanervo (born 12 April 1989) is a Finnish professional basketball player for the Helsinki Seagulls of the Finnish Korisliiga and the Finnish national basketball team. Playing career Professional career Kanervo started his career at Huänen in Äänekoski. He moved to BC Jyväskylä in spring 2007 and hit himself in the following season. In the last match of the season, he scored 64 points and earned 21.1 points throughout the season. Devon van Oostrum (born 24 January 1993) is a British-Dutch professional basketball player who last played for the London Lions of the British Basketball League (BBL). He has represented the Great Britain men's national basketball team.
