2018–19 Korisliiga Season
The 2018–19 Korisliiga season was the 79th season of the top professional basketball league in Finland. Karhu successfully defended their title to repeat as Finnish national champions. Format The eleven teams played four times against each one of the other teams for a total of 40 games. The eight best qualified teams joined the playoffs and the last one played a best-of-three relegation playoff against the First Division runners-up. Teams Ura promoted from First Division and Kobrat remained in the league as Espoo United was expelled due to financial irregularities. Regular season League table Results Playoffs The quarter-finals and semi-finals were played in a best-of-three 1–1–1–1–1 format with re-seeding in the semifinals. The finals were played in a best-of-seven playoff format. Espoo United (basketball)
Espoo United is a professional basketball club based in Espoo, Finland. The team is part of the multi-sports club Espoo, which also had an Espoo United (ice hockey), ice hockey section. The club was founded in 2016 and entered the first division Korisliiga in 2017. However, despite a first season in the top tier, the club was expelled due to financial irregularities. Kaarina
Kaarina (; sv, S:t Karins, i.e. " Saint Catherine's") is a small town and municipality of Finland. It is located in the Southwest Finland region and is a neighbouring town of Turku, which is the capital of Southwest Finland, therefore Kaarina is a part of the Greater Turku region. The municipality has a population of () and covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . The municipality is unilingually Finnish, with a Swedish minority and e.g. a Swedish comprehensive school. Bilinguality was proposed but rejected in 2015. The famous fetish artist Tom of Finland was born in Kaarina. Kaarina has a well known football team Kaarinan Pojat as well as Kino Piispanristi, the largest independent cinema in Southwest Finland. The municipality of Kuusisto was consolidated with Kaarina in 1946. The municipality of Piikkiö was consolidated with Kaarina on 1 January 2009. Vilpas
Eija Annikki Vilpas (born 17 July 1957 in Tuusula, Finland) is a Finnish actress. She is known of her roles in several Finnish comedy series, for example '' Fakta homma'' and '' Hynttyyt yhteen''. The focal point of her career lies in stage acting: Vilpas has worked in the Helsinki City Theatre since 1988. She has also done voice-over work for Finnish film dubs. She provided the voice of Marge Simpson in ''The Simpsons Movie ''The Simpsons Movie'' is a 2007 American animated comedy film based on the long-running animated sitcom ''The Simpsons''.
