Kota Ranger FC
Kota Ranger Football Club (; abbrev: KRFC), formerly Perkota, is a Bruneian football club, playing in the Brunei Super League. It was formed in 1978 and was successful in the late eighties and early nineties, winning the national championships twice. Kota Ranger directly translates to City Ranger in English. Having won two national championship playoffs, a competition that pitted the four district champions against one another; in 1987 and 1993, Kota Ranger is regarded as one of the most successful clubs from that era. Kota Ranger FC, a dominant force in Brunei football in the 1980s and 1990s, and AM Gunners FC are two club names that may hint at some British influence on the local game. Syarafuddin Hamdi Talip
Mohamad Syarafuddin Hamdi bin Haji Talip (born 8 October 1987) is a Bruneian former Association football, footballer who played as a Defender (association football), defender. He is currently with the futsal team of Kota Ranger FC. Club career A career police officer in the Royal Brunei Police Force, Syarafuddin started playing league football when his employers entered a soccer team to compete in the Football in Brunei, Brunei football leagues in 2011, namely MS PDB. Having helped secure his team's participation in the inaugural 2012–13 Brunei Super League, Syarafuddin also managed to score in the semi-final of the Brunei Darussalam National Games' football tournament on 12 September as team captain. The policemen ultimately lost to the MS ABDB, Armed Forces in the final. Brunei Football Association
The Brunei Football Association ( ms, Persatuan Bolasepak Brunei; abbrev: BAFA) was the governing body of football in Brunei until 2008. History Early days The Brunei State Amateur Football Association was formed in 1952 in Seria, Brunei. It was formally registered to the Registrar of Soceities in 1956, and afterwards joined FIFA in 1969 as the Brunei Amateur Football Association or simply BAFA, which it was still referred to as until its final days even after the dropping of 'Amateur' from its name in 1993. The association was responsible for Brunei's participation in the annual Borneo Cup, and from 1979 to 2005, the Brunei representative team in the Malaysian leagues. 2009 FIFA ban In September 2009 the association was banned globally by FIFA due to government interference in the association. DST Group Brunei Premier League ( ms, DST GROUP LIGA PERDANA BRUNEI) was the top-tier football league of Brunei until 2012, when it became the second tier of the football pyramid of Brunei with the creation of the Brunei Super League by the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam. The Malaysia Cup ( ms, Piala Malaysia), formerly known as ''Malaya Cup'', is an annual association football, football tournament in Malaysia, held at the end of the calendar year. The cup was first held in 1921. Despite its prestige and popularity as the nation's oldest cup tournament, it is currently a secondary cup to the Malaysia FA Cup, as Malaysia's slot for continental cup tournament (AFC Cup) is usually allocated to the winner of the Malaysia FA Cup. Haji Mohammad Rosanan bin Abdullah Samak (born 18 July 1965) is a Bruneian people, Bruneian association football, football coach and former player, who played as a Forward (association football), striker most notably with the Brunei M-League Team, Brunei team that played in the M-League System, Malaysian league in the 1990s. He was a member of the team that won the 1999 Malaysia Cup, which is regarded as Football in Brunei, Brunei football's crowning achievement.
