Klaudia Dernerová (born 21 June 1971) is a Slovak opera soprano and Alfréd Radok Award winner. She received the Alfréd Radok Award for Best Actress in 2000 for her portrayal of the title role in a Czech production of the Dmitri Shostakovich play '' Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District'' at the National Theatre in Prague. At the 2000 Thalia Awards she won the category of Best Female Performance in an Opera for the same work. Prešov
Prešov (, hu, Eperjes, Rusyn language, Rusyn and Ukrainian language, Ukrainian: Пряшів) is a city in Eastern Slovakia. It is the seat of administrative Prešov Region ( sk, Prešovský kraj) and Šariš, as well as the historic Sáros County of the Kingdom of Hungary. With a population of approximately 90,000 for the city, and in total about 110,000 with the metropolitan area, it is the third-largest city in Slovakia. Alfréd Radok Awards
The Alfréd Radok Awards (''Ceny Alfréda Radoka'') were presented annually by the Endowment for the Alfréd Radok Awards in collaboration with the theatre and literary agency Aura-Pont and the magazine ''Svět a Divadlo'' (The World and Theatre) for achievements in Czech theatre, starting in 1992. The category of Best Performance was the first created. In 1995, the categories Best Play, Best Stage Design, Talent of the Year, Theatre of the Year, Best Actor, and Best Actress were created. The winners were selected by vote by theatre critics. 2013 was the last year the award ceremony was held. BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition (known as Cardiff Singer of the World from 1983–2001 and BBC Singer of the World in Cardiff in 2003) is a competition for classical singers held every two years. The competition was started by BBC Wales in 1983 to celebrate the opening of St David's Hall in Cardiff, Wales, home of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
