Khumar Zulfugarova
Khumar Rza gizi Zulfugarova ( az, Xumar Rza qızı Zülfüqarova;15 November 1927, Baku – 2 July 2017, Baku) was an Azerbaijani dancer, choreographer, founder of the Azerbaijan State Dance Ensemble. She was awarded the title Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (1959), People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (1979), and Chevalier of the Order of Glory (2009). Life Khumar Zulfugarova was born on 15 November 1927 in Baku in the family of prominent theatre and film actor Rza Afganli. In 1945, she graduated from the Baku School of Choreography. From 1945 to 1966, Zulfugarova was a soloist of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. Since 1950, she began teaching at the Baku School of Choreography. During 60 years of teaching, Zulfugarova educated several generations of dancers and choreographers. Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (; ) was an honorary title awarded by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic (Azerbaijan SSR) and was one of the forms of recognition by the state and society of the merits of distinguished citizens. Leyli And Majnun (opera)
''Leyli and Majnun'' ( az, Leyli və Məcnun) is an opera in four acts by Uzeyir Hajibeyov, to an Azerbaijani libretto written by the composer and his brother Jeyhun Hajibeyov. The opera was first performed in Baku in 1908. Performance history It was written in 1907 and first performed on at the Taghiyev Theatre in Baku, which was then part of the Russian Empire. The opera is considered the First Opera of the Muslim East. The first performance of the opera was led by Huseyn Arablinski and Hajibeyov himself played violin. Uzeyir Hajibeyov and his brother Jeyhun Hajibeyov wrote the libretto for the opera based on Azerbaijani poet Muhammad Fuzuli's poem Layla and Majnun; most parts of the poem remained unchanged. Azerbaijan State Theatre Museum
Azerbaijan State Theatre Museum ( az, Azərbaycan Dövlət Teatr Muzeyi) named after Jafar Jabbarli reflects the professional theatre history of Azerbaijan. In 1934, the issue of establishing such a museum was raised at the Republican conference by theater workers. The museum was organized in the same year in the building of the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater. In fact, this exhibition was the foundation of a future museum. According to eyewitnesses, Jalil Mammadguluzadeh and Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev, the great writers who cut the opening ribbon of the exhibition, said: "Long live the Azerbaijani theater!" The exhibition is soon officially formalized as a Theater Department of the Azerbaijan State Museum. Finally, on the basis of the relevant department of the Azerbaijan State Museum in 1934, Azerbaijan State Theater Museum was established and Aghakarim Sharifov was appointed the director of the museum. Fuzuli (writer)
Mahammad bin Suleyman ( Classical Azerbaijani: ), better known by his pen name Fuzuli ( az-Arab, فضولی ; ; * ota, محمد بن سلیمان فضولی ; * fa, محمد بن سلیمان فضولی . – 1556), was a 16th century poet, writer and thinker, who wrote in his native Azerbaijani, as well as Arabic and Persian languages. Considered one of the greatest contributors to the divan tradition of Azerbaijani literature, Fuzuli in fact wrote his collected poems (divan) in all three languages. He is also regarded as one of the greatest Ottoman lyrical poets with knowledge of both the Ottoman and Chagatai Turkic literary traditions, as well as mathematics and astronomy. People's Artist of the USSR ( rus, Народный артист СССР, Narodny artist SSSR), also sometimes translated as National Artist of the USSR, was an honorary title granted to artists of the Soviet Union. Nomenclature and significance The term is confusingly used to translate two Russian language titles: Народный артист СССР (fem. Народная артистка СССР), awarded in performing arts and Народный художник СССР, granted in some visual arts. Each Soviet Republic, as well as the Autonomous Republics (ASSRs), had a similar award held previously by virtually every receiver of the higher title of People's Artist of the USSR.
