Azerbaijan State Theatre Museum
Azerbaijan State Theatre Museum ( az, Azərbaycan Dövlət Teatr Muzeyi) named after Jafar Jabbarli reflects the professional theatre history of Azerbaijan. In 1934, the issue of establishing such a museum was raised at the Republican conference by theater workers. The museum was organized in the same year in the building of the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater. In fact, this exhibition was the foundation of a future museum. According to eyewitnesses, Jalil Mammadguluzadeh and Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev, the great writers who cut the opening ribbon of the exhibition, said: "Long live the Azerbaijani theater!" The exhibition is soon officially formalized as a Theater Department of the Azerbaijan State Museum. Finally, on the basis of the relevant department of the Azerbaijan State Museum in 1934, Azerbaijan State Theater Museum was established and Aghakarim Sharifov was appointed the director of the museum. Neftchilar Avenue
Neftchiler Avenue ( az, Neftçilər Prospekti; literally Oil Worker's Avenue) is an arterial road in Baku, Azerbaijan. It begins at the west end of the Bayil district of Baku and continues east until terminating at Javanshir Bridge (formerly Gagarin Bridge) intersecting Uzeyir Hajibeyov Street. It is used as part of the Baku City Circuit, including the Start-Finish straight located next to Government House, Baku, Government House Previous names of Neftchilar Avenue were Alexander II of Russia, Alexander II Quay, Gubanov Quay, and Joseph Stalin, Stalin Avenue. The street was named Neftchilar Avenue in 1961 in honour of workers of Petroleum industry in Azerbaijan, oil industry in Azerbaijan. The larger section of the avenue runs along Baku Boulevard. Huseyngulu Sarabski
Huseyngulu Sarabski ( az, Hüseynqulu Sarabski), born Hüseynqulu Malik oğlu Rzayev (20 March 1879 – 16 February 1945), was an Azerbaijani opera singer (tenor), composer, playwright, stage actor, theatre director, and musician (tar). Early life Sarabski was born to poor parents in Baku (then part of the Russian Empire, now capital of Azerbaijan) on Nowruz Eve. At a young age, he was sent to a mullah to study the Koran. Unable to overcome the language barrier and having received severe beatings from the mullah, Huseyngulu managed to convince his parents to let him quit. In 1891, at the age 12, he watched a theatrical performance for the first time. It was staged by amateur actors and called ''Khan Sarabi'' adapted from Mirza Fatali Akhundov's play ''Sarguzasht-i vazir-i Khan-i Lankaran''. The National museum of Azerbaijan literature named after Nizami Ganjavi ( az, Nizami Gəncəvi adına Milli Azərbaycan ədəbiyyatı muzeyi) is a museum in Baku, established in 1939. Ulvi Rajab
Ulvi Rajab ( az, Ülvi Rəcəb; 1903, Janivri, near Batumi – 2 January 1938, Baku) was an Azerbaijani stage actor. Life and career He was born Ulvi Shashygzade ( ka, ულვი შაშიკაძე) in the village of Janivri (presently in Adjara, Georgia) to a Muslim Georgian family. His stage name Rajab derived from his father's first name. He lost his father at an early age. He received primary education in Istanbul where he went with his aunt, but dropped out following the beginning of World War I and began making a living. In 1918, he returned to Batumi where he attended the play ''Othello'' staged by an Azerbaijani theatre troupe led by Huseyn Arablinski at the local Actors' Society. Bulbul, ( az, Bülbül, born Murtuza Rza oghlu Mammadov, 22 June 1897 – 26 September 1961) was a famous Azerbaijani and Soviet opera tenor, folk music performer, and one of the founders of vocal arts and national musical theatre in Azerbaijan. Biography Bulbul was born in 1897 in Khanbaghi, a hamlet in the former royal gardens between Shusha and Khankandi. His mother was from the village of Pareular, the daughter of a nomad Kurd. He was known for his musical talent since his childhood, which is why people nicknamed him Bulbul ("nightingale" in Azerbaijani). He chose it as a stage name when he became involved in professional music. While still a young khananda, he was invited to Baku in 1920 to perform the role of Karam in Uzeyir Hajibeyov's opera ''Asli and Karam''.
