Kazakhstan Open
The Kazakhstan Open was a men's professional golf tournament on the Challenge Tour, the official developmental tour of the European Tour. First played in 2005, it was held at the Nurtau Golf Club in Almaty, Kazakhstan for the first four editions before moving to the Zhailjau Golf Resort, also in Almaty. Between 2010 and 2018 it had alternated between Nurtau and Zhailjau. History Since 2014 the Kazakhstan Open had a prize fund of €450,000, making it one of the richest events on the tour at the time. In 2012 Scott Henry beat HP Bacher at the second hole of a sudden-death playoff. Henry had holed a 25-foot putt at the final hole to force the playoff and won when Bacher failed to get a par at the second extra hole. In 2017 Tapio Pulkkanen beat Chase Koepka Chase Koepka (born January 30, 1994) is an American professional golfer who plays for LIV Golf. Jordan Smith (golfer)
Jordan Lewis Smith (born 9 November 1992) is an English professional golfer. Professional career Smith turned professional in 2014. He played mainly on the PGA EuroPro Tour in 2015 winning twice. He also won the tour's Order of Merit which gained him a Challenge Tour card for 2016. He won two Challenge Tour events in 2016, the Red Sea Egyptian Challenge and the Ras Al Khaimah Golf Challenge. He finished leader of the Challenge Tour Order of Merit to earn a place on the European Tour for 2017. Smith started the 2022 European Tour season with runner-up finishes at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship and the MyGolfLife Open in South Africa; where he was defeated in a playoff by Pablo Larrazábal on the second extra hole. Duncan Stewart (golfer)
Duncan Stewart (born 24 May 1984) is a Scottish professional golfer. Stewart was born in Grantown-on-Spey, Scotland. He turned professional in 2007 and played on mini-tours, winning three events on the PGA EuroPro Tour from 2011 to 2012. In 2012, he finished second in the EuroPro Tour Order of Merit, to earn a place on the Challenge Tour for 2013. In his first full season, he finished in 20th place in the Challenge Tour rankings, and was able to play 10 events on the European Tour in 2014. } Adrián Otaegui Jaúregui (born 21 November 1992) is a Spanish professional golfer from San Sebastián who currently plays on the European Tour and also the LIV Golf Invitational Series. He has won four times on the European Tour. Amateur career Otaegui had a successful amateur career which included winning the 2010 Boys Amateur Championship at Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club where he beat Max Rottluff 4 & 3 in the final. Professional career Otaegui turned professional in July 2011. From 2011 to 2013 he played on the Challenge Tour. Tyrrell Hatton
Tyrrell Glen Hatton (born 14 October 1991) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and the PGA Tour. He has won six times on the European Tour; including four Rolex Series events. He also won the 2020 Arnold Palmer Invitational on the PGA Tour. Hatton played in the winning 2018 Ryder Cup team. Amateur career Hatton qualified for the 2010 Open Championship as an amateur. Johan Carlsson (golfer)
Johan Gustav Carlsson (born 29 August 1986) is a Swedish former professional golfer. Carlsson turned professional in 2011. He played on the Nordea Tour and Nordic Golf League. In 2012, he finished second in the Nordic Golf League Order of Merit, to earn one of five places on the Challenge Tour in 2013. Carlsson won his first Challenge Tour event in September 2013 at the Kazakhstan Open. He finished 2013 in fifth place in the Challenge Tour standings, graduating to the European Tour for 2014. His best season on the European Tour was in 2016 when he finished 75th on the Order of Merit. Andrew Thomas Johnston (born 18 February 1989) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. He has one win on the European Tour, which came at the 2016 Open de España. Known affectionately as 'Beef' since his youth, he has carried the nickname into his professional career, and is a popular character amongst the crowd. Sam Hutsby (born 29 October 1988) is an English professional golfer. Amateur career Hutsby had a successful amateur career, working under the tutelage of golf coach Sam Torrance until they broke up in June 2008. In 2009 he lost the finals of The Amateur Championship at Formby Golf Club to Matteo Manassero, the youngest winner ever.
