Kauhajoen Karhu
Kauhajoki Karhu Basket ( en, Kauhajoki Bear Basket), is a Finnish basketball team from Kauhajoki. The team plays in Korisliiga, the highest tier of Finnish basketball. In 2018, the club achieved their first Korisliiga title ever after defeating Salon Vilpas 4–2 in the finals. It successfully defended its title the next season to repeat as Finnish champions. Korisliiga
The Korisliiga is the top-tier professional basketball league in Finland, comprising the top 12 teams of the country. In its current format, each team plays all other teams two times in the regular season, once at home and once away, for a total of 22 regular season games. The top six teams advances continues to upper stage and the bottom six teams plays lower stage after 22 games, 5 games at home and 5 games at away versus all other teams in stage. The best two teams from lower group joins to playoffs with upper group teams. Playoffs are played best of seven format, except the quarter-finals which are played best of 5 format. Pantterit holds the record for the most league titles won, with 14. The top level Finnish league for women is the Naisten Korisliiga. René Rougeau
René Anthony Rougeau (born March 25, 1986) is an American professional basketball player for Hermine Nantes Basket of the LNB Pro B. He played college basketball for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he starred in his four seasons with the Runnin' Rebels. Professional career Early years (2009–2010) Following graduating from UNLV, Rougeau joined the Nevada Pride of the International Basketball League before going undrafted in the 2009 NBA draft. Cameron Scott Jones (born May 4, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for Kauhajoki Karhu Basket of the Korisliiga. He played college basketball for Northern Arizona University. High school career Jones attended Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, California. He helped Los Alamitos to a 29-5 record in 2006–07 and led his team to the CIF Southern California Regional Division I first round. He averaged a team-best 18.1 points per game and 3.6 rebounds, shooting 54 percent from the field and 81 percent from the line. Mikko Koivisto (born April 18, 1987) is a Finnish basketball player. He currently plays for Salon Vilpas of the Korisliiga and for the Finnish national basketball team. Antti Kanervo (born 12 April 1989) is a Finnish professional basketball player for the Helsinki Seagulls of the Finnish Korisliiga and the Finnish national basketball team. Playing career Professional career Kanervo started his career at Huänen in Äänekoski. He moved to BC Jyväskylä in spring 2007 and hit himself in the following season.
