Kaikadi People
The Kaikadi are a community found in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Traditionally they were nomadic, mainly wandering in the Vidarbha region of the state, but most have now settled down. They face significant oppression and were once called a Criminal Tribe, and so were placed on the list of Denotified Tribes (DNTs) after independence. They speak Kaikadi, a Dravidian language closely related to Tamil with significant Indo-Aryan admixture. Colonial scholars had a significant disdain for the community, with Robert Vane Russell calling them "disreputable" and with "bad morals." Russell claimed their name derived from (meaning "hand") and (meaning "basket"), while the community derives its name from (a stand-in for a name) and (a type of twig). Russell recorded their occupation as basket-making. Colonial scholars claimed the community arrived from Telangana and they were related to the Yerukala. Maharashtra

Vidarbha
Vidarbha (Pronunciation: Help:IPA/Marathi, [ʋid̪əɾbʱə]) is a geographical region in the east of the Indian state of Maharashtra and a Proposed states and union territories of India#Maharashtra, proposed state of central India, comprising the state's Amravati Division, Amravati and Nagpur Division, Nagpur divisions. Amravati Division's former name is Berar Province, Berar (Varhad in Marathi language, Marathi). It occupies 31.6% of the total area and holds 21.3% of the total population of Maharashtra. Dravidian Languages
The Dravidian languages (or sometimes Dravidic) are a family of languages spoken by 250 million people, mainly in southern India, north-east Sri Lanka, and south-west Pakistan. Since the colonial era, there have been small but significant immigrant communities in Mauritius, Myanmar, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Canada, Germany, South Africa, and the United States. Tamil (; ' , ) is a Dravidian language natively spoken by the Tamil people of South Asia. Robert Vane Russell
Robert Vane Russell (8 August 1873 – 30 December 1915) was a British civil servant, known for his role as Superintendent of Ethnography for what was then the Central Provinces of British India, coordinating the production of publications detailing the peoples of the region. Russell served as Superintendent of Census Operations for the 1901 Census of India. Russell's father, Charles Robert Tilden Russell, was an officer in the Royal Navy. He was educated at Winchester College before attending Trinity College, Cambridge and then, in 1893, joining the Indian Civil Service. Together with an amateur archaeologist, Rai Bahadur Hira Lal, Russell compiled ''The Castes and Tribes of the Central Provinces'', published in 1916. Yerukala People
Yerukala or Erukala or Erukula is a Tamil tribal community primarily found in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The population of Yerukala tribes according to 2011 census is 519,337. The total literacy rate among Yerukula is 48.12%. Most live in southern coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, with a smaller minority in districts of Telangana.
