The KR-b men's basketball team, commonly known as KR-b or KR Bumban, is the reserve team of KR men's basketball, based in Reykjavík, Iceland. It currently plays in the 2. deild karla (basketball), 2. deild karla and the Icelandic Men's Basketball Cup, Icelandic basketball cup. The Icelandic Basketball Association (''Icelandic:Körfuknattleikssamband Íslands - KKÍ'') is the national governing body of basketball in Iceland and is a member of the continental association FIBA Europe and the global International Basketball Federation (FIBA). Sigurður Þorvaldsson
Sigurður Ágúst Þorvaldsson (born 25 November 1980) is an Icelandic basketball player and a former member of the Icelandic national team. During his career, he won the Icelandic championship and the Icelandic Cup four times each. He was a four-time Úrvalsdeild Domestic All-First Team member and in 2005 he was named the Úrvalsdeild Domestic Player of the Year. In 2010, Sigurður was found guilty of rape and sentenced to two years in prison. Ólafur Jón Ormsson
Ólafur Jón Ormsson (born 21 June 1976) is an Icelandic former basketball player and a former member of Icelandic national team. He played eight seasons in the Úrvalsdeild karla, winning the Icelandic championship with KR in 2000. He was named the Icelandic Men's Basketball Player of the Year that same year. Playing career Ólafur played his first senior games with KR during the 1993–1994 Úrvalsdeild season, averaging 9.6 points per game in 22 games. He established himself as one of the top three-point shooters the following season, shooting 42.1% from the three-point range, good for tenth best in the league. Óðinn Ásgeirsson
Óðinn Ásgeirsson (born 4 February 1979) is an Icelandic former basketball player. He played several seasons in the Icelandic top-tier Úrvalsdeild karla and was twice named to the Úrvalsdeild Domestic All-First Team during his career. Playing career Óðinn started training basketball at the age of 14 and played his first senior teams games in 1996 with Þór Akureyri in the Úrvalsdeild karla. The following year he went as a transfer student to Jamaica before returning in 1998 to play for Þór. On 15 October 2000, Óðinn scored a game winning three pointer at the buzzer to beat KR 79–78. Melvin Scott
Melvin Scott (born February 3, 1982) is a former North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball guard. He played on the 2004-2005 National Championship Team. He played all four eligible years and was not drafted by the NBA. He played high school basketball at Southern High in Baltimore. He played with KR Basket in Iceland's Úrvalsdeild. Career Scott was signed by KR-b, KR reserve team, in January 2006 ahead of its upcoming game against Grindavík in the Icelandic Cup. In the game, he scored 42 points in KR-B's 69-92 loss. Three weeks later, Scott was signed by KR's main team for the rest of the Úrvalsdeild karla season in place of Omari Westley, who was released after he was suspended for four games by the league. Matthías Orri Sigurðarson
Matthías Orri Sigurðarson (born 29 September 1994) is an Icelandic basketball player for Úrvalsdeild karla club KR and a former member of the Icelandic men's national basketball team. Playing career After starting his career with KR in 2010, Matthías Orri had is breakout season with ÍR in 2013–2014 when he averaged 16.8 points and 6.7 assists. Martin Hermannsson (born 16 September 1994) is an Icelandic professional basketball player for Valencia of the Spanish Liga ACB and the EuroLeague. He also internationally represents the Icelandic national basketball team, with which he participated in the EuroBasket 2015 and EuroBasket 2017. Marcus Walker (basketball)
Marcus Walker (born August 22, 1986) is an American former professional basketball player. He led KR to the Icelandic championship and Icelandic Basketball Cup in 2011, and was named both the Úrvalsdeild Foreign Player of the year and the Úrvalsdeild Playoffs MVP. College Walker joined Nebraska University in 2005 but left the school after one season, citing his desire to play in a more up-tempo offense. He played for Indian Hills during the 2006–2007 season before finishing his college career with Colorado State in 2009.
