Óðinn Ásgeirsson
Óðinn Ásgeirsson (born 4 February 1979) is an Icelandic former basketball player. He played several seasons in the Icelandic top-tier Úrvalsdeild karla and was twice named to the Úrvalsdeild Domestic All-First Team during his career. Playing career Óðinn started training basketball at the age of 14 and played his first senior teams games in 1996 with Þór Akureyri in the Úrvalsdeild karla. The following year he went as a transfer student to Jamaica before returning in 1998 to play for Þór. On 15 October 2000, Óðinn scored a game winning three pointer at the buzzer to beat KR 79–78. For the season, he averaged 18.4 points and 9.1 rebounds and was named to the Úrvalsdeild Domestic All-First Team for the first time. During the 2001–2002 season, Óðinn averaged 17.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per game and was named to the Domestic All-First Team for the second year in a row. The Þór Akureyri men's basketball team, commonly known as Þór Akureyri, is the men's basketball department of Þór Akureyri multi sports club, based in the town of Akureyri in Iceland. The Icelandic Basketball Association (''Icelandic:Körfuknattleikssamband Íslands - KKÍ'') is the national governing body of basketball in Iceland and is a member of the continental association FIBA Europe and the global International Basketball Federation (FIBA). Iceland Men's National Basketball Team
The Iceland men's national basketball team ( is, Íslenska karlalandsliðið í körfubolta) represents Iceland in international basketball tournaments. The team is controlled by the Icelandic Basketball Association. Iceland has qualified for the EuroBasket twice, with the national team making their first ever appearance in 2015. They also participate at smaller European tournaments, such as the Games of the Small States of Europe. Although Iceland has yet to make their debut entrance on to the global stage at the FIBA World Cup. Ríkisútvarpið (RÚV) (pronounced or ) ( en, 'The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service') is Iceland's national public-service broadcasting organization. The Keflavík men's basketball team, commonly known as Keflavík, is the men's professional basketball department of Keflavík ÍF (Keflavík, íþrótta- og ungmennafélag), based in the town of Reykjanesbær in Iceland. They currently play in Úrvalsdeild karla. Rivalry with Njarðvík Keflavík's biggest rivals are their closest neighbours, Njarðvík. The teams are both based in Reykjanesbær.
