KDWY
KDWY is an American FM radio station broadcasting on 105.3 MHz FM and is licensed to Diamondville, Wyoming. It primarily broadcasts a country music format, but occasionally broadcasts local high school football and basketball games from Kemmerer or Diamondville as well. KDWY has a sister station, KMER 940 AM. Signal KDWY broadcasts from a tower located northeast of Kemmerer, and with its 16,000 watt signal, covers much of southwestern Wyoming. KDWY can also be heard in parts of northern Utah and southeastern Idaho, with a good radio, or a car stereo. The station at one point had a construction permit to move to Oakley, Utah, changing frequencies to 105.5 FM. It would have then become a rimshot to the Salt Lake City market. KMER
KMER (940 AM) is an American radio station broadcasting on 940 kHz and is licensed to Kemmerer, Wyoming. It primarily broadcasts a country format, but occasionally broadcasts local high school football and basketball games from Kemmerer as well. KMER has national news at the top of the hour and weather during commercial breaks. KMER has a sister station KDWY 105.3 FM, which is licensed to Diamondville. Prior to August 2006, KMER operated on 950 kHz with a higher power, 5,000 watts. It was formerly a daytimer, signing off at local sunset. In order to accommodate nearby KOVO AM 960's move from Provo, Utah to Bluffdale, Utah (which ultimately did not happen), KMER was forced to change its frequency from 950 to 940 and lower its power so as to not interfere with KOVO. Both stations were at the time owned by Simmons Media. KOVO did relocate their towers, however it is unclear if the frequency change was necessary. Diamondville is a town in Lincoln County, Wyoming, Lincoln County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 737 at the United States Census, 2010, 2010 census. History Harrison Church discovered coal near the Hams Fork River in 1868. He gathered financial backing from a group in Minneapolis, and they formed the Hams Fork River Coal Company. It is approximately south of Evanston, Wyoming and east of Coalville, Utah. The summit has an elevation of . AM Band
Medium wave (MW) is the part of the medium frequency (MF) radio band used mainly for AM radio broadcasting. The spectrum provides about 120 channels with more limited sound quality than FM stations on the FM broadcast band. During the daytime, reception is usually limited to more local stations, though this is dependent on the signal conditions and quality of radio receiver used. Improved signal propagation at night allows the reception of much longer distance signals (within a range of about 2,000 km or 1,200 miles). This can cause increased interference because on most channels multiple transmitters operate simultaneously worldwide.
