Kyle Larsen
__NOTOC__ Kyle Alan Larsen (January 2, 1950 – August 21, 2012) was a professional American bridge player. He won two world titles: the 2001 Bermuda Bowl in Paris and 2006 Rosenblum Cup in Verona, as well as 12 national titles and 9 runners-up. He was born in San Francisco, California – the son of two tournament bridge players – and lived in the Bay Area until his death. At the age of 15 he became the youngest ACBL Life Master at that time; when he won Reisinger Board-a-Match Teams in 1968, aged 18, he was the youngest player ever to win a major North American title. His bridge partner for many years was Rose Meltzer; together they won both world championships and five North American Bridge Championships titles. Bermuda Bowl
The Bermuda Bowl is a biennial contract bridge world championship for national . It is contested every odd-numbered year under the auspices of the World Bridge Federation (WBF), alongside the Venice Cup (women), the d'Orsi Senior Bowl and the Wuhan Cup (mixed). Entries formally represent WBF zones as well as nations, so it is also known as the World Zonal Open Team Championship. 40th World Teams; "Information". Rosenblum Cup
Rosenblum Cup is an Open Teams event held every four years as part of the World Bridge Championships. The event was added to the world championships in New Orleans in 1978 to commemorate Julius Rosenblum, who served as president of the World Bridge Federation (WBF) until 1976. A similar event for women, the McConnell Cup, which takes place alongside the Rosenblum Cup was added in 1994. The full name of this championship is World Open Knockout Teams. The knockout format pertains only to the late stages, however, evidently a six-round knockout with 64 teams in recent renditions. It appears that the field has been divided into sixteen groups for round-robin play, with the top four advancing from each group to the knockout stage. Rose Meltzer
Rose Meltzer is an American bridge player. After completion of 2014 tournaments she was the only woman among 84 living Open World Grand Masters and she ranked 58th among them by World Bridge Federation (WBF) open masterpoints. For the 1999 to 2007 cycles of world bridge competition, Meltzer led professional teams that won two major open world championships: the biennial Bermuda Bowl in 2001, representing the United States as USA2, and the quadrennial Rosenblum Cup in 2006.
