Kvalheim
Kvalheim is a coastal village with large agricultural areas in Kinn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The village is located on the western side of the island of Vågsøy, about west of the large village of Raudeberg. The neighboring villages of Refvika and Vedvika are located across the mountain to the northeast. The Kråkenes Lighthouse lies about to the northwest and the Hendanes Lighthouse can be seen about across the bay from Kvalheim. The nearest town is the municipal center of Måløy which is about a 15-minute drive to the southeast. Kvalheim has a population (2001) of 163. The village of Kvalheim is mentioned in sources reaching back to the 14th century. Vågsøy (island)
Vågsøy is an island in Kinn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island lies on the northern side of the mouth of the Nordfjorden (Sogn og Fjordane), Nordfjorden, the sixth longest fjord in Norway. The Stadlandet peninsula lies to the north of the island, the islands of Silda, Sogn og Fjordane, Silda and Barmøya and the mainland lie to the east of the island, the island of Husevågøy lies to the south (in the middle of the mouth of the Nordfjorden), and the open ocean lies to the west. Since the island lies along the open ocean, which can be rough, there are several lighthouses along the coastline of the island including: Hendanes Lighthouse, Kråkenes Lighthouse, and Skongenes Lighthouse. Kinn Municipality
Kinn is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It was established on 1 January 2020. It is in the traditional districts of Nordfjord and Sunnfjord. The municipality is the only non-contiguous municipality in Norway since the municipality of Bremanger lies in between the north and south parts of Kinn. The administrative centres of the municipality is the two cities of Florø and Måløy. Some villages in the municipality include Rognaldsvåg, Stavang, Grov, Norddalsfjord, Nyttingnes, Steinhovden, Brandsøy, Deknepollen, Holvika, Kvalheim, Langeneset, Raudeberg, Refvika, Silda, Tennebø, Vedvika, and Vågsvåg. Refvika
Refvik or Refvika is a village in Kinn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located on the north side of the island of Vågsøy, about northwest of the village of Raudeberg, south of Vedvika, and southwest of Langenes. Vestland is a county in Norway established on 1 January 2020. The county is located in Western Norway and it is centred around the city of Bergen, Norway's second largest city. Måløy () is a town in the municipality of Kinn in Vestland county, Norway. Måløy is located on the southeastern side of the island of Vågsøy, about northeast of the village of Holvika and about south of the village of Raudeberg. Hendanes Lighthouse ( no, Hendanes fyr) is a coastal lighthouse located in Kinn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The lighthouse sits on the western shore of the island of VÃ¥gsøy, about north of the village of VÃ¥gsvÃ¥g. History It was first lit in 1914 and it was replaced by an automated light in 1952. Kråkenes Lighthouse
KrÃ¥kenes Lighthouse ( no, KrÃ¥kenes fyr) is a coastal lighthouse in Kinn Municipality in Vestland, Norway. It is located on a rocky, knife-like promontory jutting out of the northwestern tip of the island of VÃ¥gsøy. History It was first lit in 1906 and automated in 1986. The original lighthouse was destroyed by fire following an Allied air raid in 1945. The current lighthouse now houses a restaurant and has rooms available for overnight accommodations. Raudeberg is a village in Kinn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located on the east side of the island of Vågsøy.
