Krysta Burns
Krysta Burns (born June 9, 1996) is a Canadian curler from Sudbury, Ontario. She currently skips her own team. Career Burns made three appearances at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships during her junior career in 2014, 2015 and 2017. In 2014, she skipped her Northern Ontario team to a 4–5 round robin record and in 2015, her team finished 3–6. Burns had her best finish in 2017 as her team qualified for the playoffs with a 7–3 record. Facing Alberta in the semifinal, Team Northern Ontario gave up key steals in the fifth and sixth ends, ultimately losing the game 7–3 and taking home the bronze medal. Also during the 2016–17 season, Burns skipped Laurentian University to a gold medal at the 2017 U Sports/Curling Canada University Curling Championships. Megan Smith (born October 16, 1997) is a Canadian curler from Sudbury, Ontario. She currently plays third on Team Chelsea Brandwood. In 2015, she won the gold medal at the 2015 Canada Winter Games, skipping Team Ontario in women's curling. Career Smith made three appearances at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships during her junior career, playing for three different skips in 2016, 2017 and 2019. In 2016, she skipped Team Northern Ontario to a 5–4 ninth-place finish after failing to qualify for the championship round. Smith had her best finish at the 2017 championship playing third for Krysta Burns. The team finished 7–3 through the round robin and championship pools, qualifying for the playoffs as the second seed. The Michener Institute of Education at UHN, or simply Michener, is a specialist post-secondary institution in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Kerry Galusha (born Kerry Koe on November 3, 1977) is a Canadian curler. She currently skips her team out of the Yellowknife Curling Club in Yellowknife. Career Juniors Galusha's first national experience was at the 1992 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. She was the fifth player for Janet Sian. The team would finish in eleventh place with a 2-9 record. She would return to the junior championships again in 1993, this time playing third stones for Tara Hamer. The team would finish in tenth place with a 2-9 record. The team would return again in 1994, finishing with a 5-6 record. By 1995 Galusha was returning to her fourth junior championship, her final year with Hamer. The team would end up finishing round robin with a 3-8 record. 2021 Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2021 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national women's curling championship, was held from February 19 to 28 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta. The winning Kerri Einarson team represented Canada at the 2021 World Women's Curling Championship. The world championship was supposed to be held at the Curlinghalle Schaffhausen in Schaffhausen, Switzerland; however, the event was cancelled and rescheduled to the "Calgary bubble" of the Markin MacPhail Centre. The event was originally scheduled to be held in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The Northern Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts is the provincial women's championships of curling in Northern Ontario, Canada. Beginning with the 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the winning team will have a direct entry to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national women's curling championship. In 2008, following the formation of the Northern Ontario Curling Association (NOCA), Northern Ontario held its first provincial women's curling championship, with the top four teams playing in the Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
