Kristen Tsai
Kristen Tsai (born 11 July 1995) is a Taiwanese born Canadian badminton player. She is the women's doubles champion at the 2019 Pan American Games, fifth time Pan Am Champion winning the women's singles title in 2012, and then the women's doubles title in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022. Career Tsai became the first Canadian ever to make in to the quarterfinals at the World Junior Championships. Lived in Vancouver, British Columbia, she trained at the ClearOne badminton club, and majored in criminology at the Simon Fraser University. She won her first Pan Am Championships title in 2012 in the women's singles event, and after that Tsai spent a full 4 years – between the 2013 and 2017 Canada Opens – away from international competition. In 2018, she competed at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. The 2011 BWF World Junior Championships is the thirteenth tournament of the BWF World Junior Championships. Jamie Subandhi
Jamie Chen Subandhi (born December 15, 1989) is an American badminton player who competes in the singles and mixed doubles category. In the mixed doubles, she is usually partnered with Phillip Chew. Subandhi won gold along with Chew in the mixed doubles category at the 2015 Pan American Games. In 2016, she competed in the mixed doubles event at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Josephine Wu
Josephine Yuenling Wu (born 20 January 1995) is a Canadian badminton player. She clinched three Pan American Games gold medals by winning the mixed doubles title in 2019 and 2023, and also the women's doubles title in 2023. At the Pan Am Championships, she won seven golds, and five silver medals since her debut at the tournament in 2016. Early and personal life Wu is currently a business student at the University of Alberta and has been competing in badminton since she was seven years old. Canada competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the nation's debut in 1900, Canadian athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow because of the country's support for United States-led boycott. Before the official postponement, the Canadian Olympic Committee and Canadian Paralympic Committee initially announced their intention not to send teams to both the Olympics and Paralympics.
