Jamie Chen Subandhi (born December 15, 1989) is an Americans, American badminton player who competes in the Badminton#Singles, singles and Badminton#Mixed Doubles, mixed doubles category. In the mixed doubles, she is usually partnered with Phillip Chew. Subandhi won gold along with Chew in the Badminton at the 2015 Pan American Games – Mixed doubles, mixed doubles category at the 2015 Pan American Games. In 2016, she competed in the Badminton at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Mixed doubles, mixed doubles event at the Badminton at the 2016 Summer Olympics, Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Phillip Chew
Phillip Hung Chew (born May 16, 1994) is an American badminton player. He won two gold medals in men's and mixed doubles at the 2015 Pan American Games. Chew also participated in the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. He won the 2021 Pan Am Badminton Championships doubles with his brother Ryan Chew. He trains at the Orange County Badminton Club, which is founded by his grandfather, Don Chew. Career In 2016, Chew represented the United States in both mixed and men's doubles events at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Chew made his second appearance at the Olympic Games in 2020 Tokyo. Riocentro is an exhibition and convention center located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Built in 1977, it is the largest exhibition center in Latin America. Notable events 1981 May Day attack On April 30, 1981, during a May Day music concert, Riocentro was the target of a terrorist attack by hardliner members of the Brazilian military dictatorship (1964–1985). Michelle Li (badminton)
Michelle Li (born November 3, 1991) is a Canadian badminton player. Li is the 2014 Commonwealth Games champion and the first Canadian to win an individual gold medal in women's singles badminton at the Commonwealth Games. She has won gold in both singles and doubles at the Pan American Games and won the singles and team event titles from the Pan American Badminton Championships. The Markham Pan Am Centre is a multi-purpose community and aquatics centre located in the new downtown area of Markham, Ontario, Canada. Badminton At The 2016 Summer Olympics
The badminton tournaments at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place from 11 to 20 August at the fourth pavilion of Riocentro. A total of 172 athletes competed in five events: men's singles, men's doubles, women's singles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.
