Kris Peeters
Kris Peeters (; born 18 May 1962) is a Belgian politician of the Christian Democratic and Flemish who has been serving as vice-president of the European Investment Bank (EIB) since 2021. Earlier in his career, he was Minister-President of Flanders (2007–2014), Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Employment in the government of Prime Minister Charles Michel (2014–2019), and a Member of the European Parliament (2019–2021). Early life and education After attending secondary school in Boom, Peeters studied law in Antwerp and obtained a law degree in 1986. In addition, he obtained a degree in taxation and accounting from Vlerick Business School in Ghent. Early career Peeters served from 1991 to 1994 as Director of the NCMV research department. Tom Vandenkendelaere
Tom Vandenkendelaere (born 2 September 1984 in Roeselare) is a Belgian politician who has served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 2014 until 2019 and again since 2021. He is a member of the Christian Democratic and Flemish party (CD&V), which sits in the EPP Group. Political career Vandenkendelaere was chairman of the CD&V youth wing from 2013 to 2014. In 2014, Vandenkendelaere succeeded Marianne Thyssen, who became European Commissioner. In parliament, he served on the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON), the "Panama Papers" Inquiry Committee (PANA) and the delegation for relations with the People's Republic of China. 2007 Belgian Federal Election
Federal elections were held in Belgium on 10 June 2007. Voters went to the polls in order to elect new members for the Chamber of Representatives and Senate. Eligible voters were Belgian citizens 18 years and older. There was a legal electoral threshold of 5% for political parties to meet to receive representation, but in several election districts the real electoral threshold is higher than the legal, due to the small number of seats to be elected in the particular district. The 150 members of the Chamber of Representatives were elected from 11 electoral districts. The 40 Senate members were elected from the Dutch (25) and Francophone (15) electoral colleges. Puurs
Puurs () is a former municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. It is located in the Flemish Region. The municipality comprised the towns of Breendonk, Liezele, , Ruisbroek (old spelling: ''Ruysbroeck'') and Puurs proper. There is also the hamlet of Kalfort. The Belgian provincial, municipal and district elections of 2006 took place on Sunday 8 October 2006. The electors have elected the municipal councillors of 589 cities and towns (308 in the Flemish Region, 262 in the Walloon Region and 19 in the Brussels-Capital Region) as well as the ten provincial councils. The Flemish Government ( nl, Vlaamse regering ) is the executive branch of the Flemish Community and the Flemish Region of Belgium.
