VAT "Krasnodonvugillya" (meaning: Krasnodon Coal, uk, ВАТ «Краснодонвугілля», russian: ПАО «Краснодонуголь») is a coal-mining company located in the northern part of the Donets Basin, Donetsk coal basin within Krasnodon district of Luhansk Oblast, Ukraine. History Krasnodonvugillya started as a group of Krasnodon, Sorokino coal mines having yielded the first 110 ktonnes of Coking coal#Coking coal and use of coke, coking coal in 1914. In 1935, the trust “Sorokino coal” was established. The trust united 25 coal mines. In 1936, the trust was renamed into “Krasnodon Coal”. Donets Basin
The Seversky Donets () or Siverskyi Donets (), usually simply called the Donets, is a river on the south of the East European Plain. It originates in the Central Russian Upland, north of Belgorod, flows south-east through Ukraine (Kharkiv, Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts) and then again through Russia (Rostov Oblast) to join the river Don, about from the Sea of Azov. Krasnodon (Ukrainian language, Ukrainian, Russian language, Russian: Краснодон) is a city in Luhansk Oblast (Oblast, region) of eastern Ukraine. It is incorporated as a city of regional significance (Ukraine), city of oblast significance and serves as the administrative center of Krasnodon Raion (Raion, district), though it does not belong to the raion.
