Konkani Literature
Konkani literature is literature in the Konkani language, mostly produced in three scripts: Roman, Devanagari and Kannada. Konkani literature is eligible for the Sahitya Akademi Award History While the earliest inscriptions in Konkani date from around the end of the first millennium, the first writer in the history of Konkani language known to us today is Shamaraja; who was also known as Krishnadas Shama as he was an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna. He was born in the 15th century AD in the village of Quelossim in Goa. As per the date mentioned in his ''Shrikrishnacharitrakatha'', he began writing his book on 13th of the Vaishakha month of the Hindu lunar calendar, which is 25 April 1526, according to the Gregorian calendar. He authored ''Ramayana'', ''Mahabharata'', and ''Krishnacharitrakatha'' in prose style. The manuscripts have not been found, although transliterations in Roman script are found in Braga in Portugal. Doutrina Christam (book Of Stephens, 1622)

Reginald Fernandes
Reginaldo "Reginald" Fernandes (14 June 1914 – 13 November 1994) was an Indian writer, musician and cultural figure from the world of Goan and Konkani music. He was known for having written a vast number of Konkani ''romans'' novels, over a hundred in number. He has been called the "King of Konkani Fiction". Large body of work There is some disagreement on how many novels and novellas Fernandes actually wrote, the number ranging from more than a hundred to 190. During his 101st birth centenary celebrations in June 2015, it was noted that Reginald Fernandes had written some 190 Konkani novels, besides being an accomplished musician, lyricist and playwright. Caridade Damaciano Fernandes
Caridade Damaciano Fernandes (1904 – 7 October 1948) was a prolific Konkani-language novelist and a pioneer of prose fiction writing in that language. He has been called "the father of Konkani novels". Caridade Damacian died on October 7, 1948, but yet his legacy is still remembered and celebrated. Life Caridade Damacian was the only child of Manuel Fernandes (from Maina, Goa) and Maria M Mascarenhas (from Corjuem). His birth-date is unknown. He was born in humble settings, which nonetheless did not deter him from following his literary pursuits. He was from the Maina ward of Aldona, and was the son of a farmer. His mother was a cook, who went to homes offering her services at cooking and making Goan sweets. He became a seaman, married Maria Luisa de Souza of Parra, and they had no children. Ravindra Kelekar
Ravindra Kelekar (7 March 1925 – 27 August 2010) was a noted Indian author who wrote primarily in the Konkani language, though he also wrote in Marathi and Hindi. A Gandhian a 2010ctivist, freedom fighter and a pioneer in the modern Konkani movement, he is a well known Konkani scholar, linguist, and creative thinker. Kelkar was a participant in the Indian freedom movement, Goa's liberation movement, and later the campaign against the merger of the newly formed Goa with Maharashtra. He played a key role in the founding of the ''Konkani Bhasha Mandal'', which lead the literary campaign for the recognition of Konkani as a full-fledged language, and its reinstatement as the state language of Goa. He authored nearly 100 books in the Konkani language, including ''Amchi Bhas Konkaneech'', ''Shalent Konkani Kityak'', ''Bahu-bhashik Bharatant Bhashenche Samajshastra'' and ''Himalayant'', and also edited ''Jaag'' magazine for more than two decades. Shenoi Goembab
Waman Raghunath Shennoi Varde Valaulikar (23 June 1877 – 9 April 1946), known popularly as Shenoi Goembab, was a noted Konkani writer and activist. Early life Waman Shenoi was born on 23 June 1877 at Bicholim, Goa. He came from a notable family which could boast the presence of diplomats. One of his progenitors was a diplomat of a local potentate in the court of the Portuguese in Goa, while another is reported to have been was 'Delegate or Ambassador of the Portuguese Government at the Court of the Peshwas in Pune'. Waman's father, however, was not a successful man, who is reported to have held the position of manager in the household of a rich relative and subsequently a poor shopkeeper in Bicholim. Mangalore
Mangalore (), officially known as Mangaluru, is a major port city of the Indian state of Karnataka.
