Koit Toome
Koit Toome (born 3 January 1979), is an Estonian singer and musical actor. He has twice represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest. In Eurovision Song Contest 1998, 1998 he finished 12th with the song "Mere lapsed". In Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, 2017 he sang a duet with Laura Põldvere, entitled "Verona (song), Verona". Career Koit Toome was discovered in the music school in 1994 by the music producer Mikk Targo who was initially planning to launch a solo career for Koit. It later turned out that Koit's schoolmate and initial backing vocalist Sirli Hiius harmonized perfectly with Koit. Due to this, Koit's solo turned into a pop duo, Code One, which enjoyed a successful run of top hits that over the years have become evergreens. Toome and Hiius sometimes nevertheless perform together, despite having called the active years as a singing duo to an end years ago. Verona (song)
"Verona" is an English-language song performed by Estonian singers Koit Toome and Laura. The song represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. It was written by Sven Lõhmus. The song was released as a digital download on 30 January 2017. The song's title and lyrics directly reference the Italian city of Verona. Eesti Laul 2017 Toome and Laura were confirmed to be taking part in ''Eesti Laul 2017'', Estonia's national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, on 8 November 2016. They competed in the second semi-final on 18 February 2017, and placed second, placing first with televoters and fifth with juries. In the final, held on 4 March, they advanced to the superfinal after placing second, winning the televote once again and placing sixth with juries. Endla Theatre
Endla ( et, Endla teater) is a professional theatre in city of Pärnu, Estonia. The theatre was opened in 1911. The first performance was "Libahunt" ("Werewolf") by Estonian writer August Kitzberg. The Estonian Declaration of Independence was proclaimed from the theatre's balcony on 23 February 1918, one day before it was proclaimed in Tallinn. Endla was gutted by fire in 1944 and the Soviet authorities opted not to restore the theatre but to demolish it with explosives in 1961, due to it being an important symbol of Estonian independence. From 1948 until 1986, actress and singer Olli Ungvere was engaged at the theater. Actor Margus Oopkaup was a performer at the theater from 1982 until 2000. ''Rent'' is a rock musical with music, lyrics, and book by Jonathan Larson, loosely based on Giacomo Puccini's 1896 opera ''La Bohème''. It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life in Lower Manhattan's East Village in the thriving days of bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. The musical was first seen in a workshop production at New York Theatre Workshop in 1993. This same off-Broadway theatre was also the musical's initial home following its official 1996 opening.
