Kiumars Pourahmad
Kiumars Pourahmad ( fa, کیومرث پوراحمد, born 16 December 1949 in Najaf Abad, Isfahan, Iran) is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, film editor and film producer. Career Pourahmad started his career as a film critic and assistant director in a TV series in early 1970s. He made his directorial debut, ''Tatureh'' in 1983 after making some short films. Children and young adults with their problems are the central characters in most of his films. Recently, Pourahmad has shown a tendency toward mass audience and box office and his latest film, ''The Yalda Night'', was a self-expression. Pourahmad recently published his autobiography, ''Unfinished Childhood''. Fajr Film Festival
Iran's annual Fajr International Film Festival ( fa, جشنواره بین‌المللی فیلم فجر), or Fajr Film Festival (little: FIFF; fa, جشنواره فیلم فجر), has been held every February and April in Tehran since 1982. The festival is supervised by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. It takes place on the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The awards are the Iranian equivalent to the American Academy Awards. The festival has been promoted locally and internationally through television, radio and webinars; speakers have come from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany. Organizations contributing to the event have included the Farabi Cinema Foundation, Iran film foundation, Press TV, HispanTV and Iran's multi-lingual film channel IFilm. Gol-e Yakh (film)
''Gol-e Yakh'' (Persian: گل‌یخ; ''Ice Flower'', also Wintersweet) is the debut solo studio album by Iranian singer-songwriter and guitarist Kourosh Yaghmaei. The album was released in 1973 by Caltex in Iran and was produced by Yaghmaei. The song "Gol-e Yakh," a melancholic ballad about love that endures through the bitterest winters was Yaghmaei's debut single and a huge success more than five million copies sold in the domestic market. Since it was released, there have been many performances within and outside of Iran. It brought fame to Yaghmaei and was translated into and adapted for other languages. Backed with the single "Del Dareh Pir Misheh," an Iranian-style garage rock song. ''Majid's Tales'' or ''The Tales of Majid'' ( fa, قصه‌های مجید, italic=yes) is a collection of short stories by Iranian author Houshang Moradi Kermani. Many years before it became a book, it was a radio program script (1974). In 1985, the script was adapted into a book and published. The main character, Majid, is an orphan who lives with his grandmother in the city of Kerman, Iran. The book includes 39 chapters detailing the adventures, misadventures, and coming-of-age milestones from the perspective of this Iranian teenager attending the first year of high school. Majid works in a bakery during the summer and sometimes after school in order to supplement the money that his grandmother receives from her deceased husband's retirement funds. ''The Night Bus'' ( fa, اتوبوس شب; Transliteration: ''Otobus-e Shab'') is a 2007 Iranian film directed by Kiomars Pourahmad, Kiumars Pourahmad. The film, which is in sharp monochrome, relates the story of a twenty-four-hour-long journey of two young Iranian soldiers (''Issā'' and ''Emād'') and a civilian driver (''Amu Rahim'') transporting thirty-eight Iraqi prisoners of war, taken from behind the Iraqi line, to a garrison inside Iran. From the details one is informed that the Iran–Iraq War has entered into its third year.
