The Tales Of Majid
''Majid's Tales'' or ''The Tales of Majid'' ( fa, قصههای مجید, italic=yes) is a collection of short stories by Iranian author Houshang Moradi Kermani. Many years before it became a book, it was a radio program script (1974). In 1985, the script was adapted into a book and published. The main character, Majid, is an orphan who lives with his grandmother in the city of Kerman, Iran. The book includes 39 chapters detailing the adventures, misadventures, and coming-of-age milestones from the perspective of this Iranian teenager attending the first year of high school. Majid works in a bakery during the summer and sometimes after school in order to supplement the money that his grandmother receives from her deceased husband's retirement funds. There are some similarities between the fictional character, Majid, and Kermani. For example, Majid is an orphan, while in real life, Kermani lost his mother when he was young. Houshang Moradi Kermani
Houshang Moradi Kermani ( fa, هوشنگ مرادی کرمانی, also Romanized as "Hūshang Morādi-e Kermāni"; born 7 September 1944 at Sirch, a village in Kerman Province, Iran) is an Iranian writer best known for children's and young adult fiction. He was a finalist in 2014 for the Hans Christian Andersen Award. Moradi Kermani was born in Sirch, a village in Kerman Province, and was educated in Sirch, Kerman, and Tehran. Several Iranian movies and TV series have been made based on his books. In 2006, Dariush Mehrjui directed '' Mehman-e Maman'' based on Moradi Kermani's novel with the same title. Some of Moradi Kermani's books have been translated into English, Esperanto, The Samovar translated by Saed Abbasi, appeared in Beletra Almanako (Literary Almanac), NR. 31, Feb. 2018. Kiumars Purahmad
Kiumars Pourahmad ( fa, کیومرث پوراحمد, born 16 December 1949 in Najaf Abad, Isfahan, Iran) is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, film editor and film producer. Career Pourahmad started his career as a film critic and assistant director in a TV series in early 1970s. He made his directorial debut, ''Tatureh'' in 1983 after making some short films. Children and young adults with their problems are the central characters in most of his films. Recently, Pourahmad has shown a tendency toward mass audience and box office and his latest film, ''The Yalda Night'', was a self-expression. ''The Tales of Majid'' ( fa, قصههای مجید, italic=yes) is a 1990 Iranian drama miniseries written, produced and directed by Kiumars Pourahmad based on the book of the same name by Houshang Moradi Kermani. The Battle of Karbala ( ar, مَعْرَكَة كَرْبَلَاء) was fought on 10 October 680 (10 Muharram in the year 61 AH of the Islamic calendar) between the army of the second Umayyad Caliph Yazid I and a small army led by Husayn ibn Ali, the grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, at Karbala, Sawad (modern-day southern Iraq). Prior to his death, the Umayyad caliph Muawiyah I had nominated his son Yazid as his successor. Yazid's nomination was contested by the sons of a few prominent companions of Muhammad, including Husayn, son of the fourth caliph Ali, and Abd Allah ibn Zubayr, son of Zubayr ibn al-Awwam. Husayn Ibn Ali
Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib ( ar, أبو عبد الله الحسين بن علي بن أبي طالب; 10 January 626 – 10 October 680) was a grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and a son of Ali ibn Abi Talib and Muhammad's daughter Fatima, as well as a younger brother of Hasan ibn Ali. Abū al-Sābigha Shamir ibn Dhī al-Jawshan ( ar, أبو السابغة شمر بن ذي الجوشن), often known as Shamir or Shimr, was an Arab military commander from Kufa who killed Husayn ibn Ali, the grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, at the Battle of Karbala in 680.
