Kirsten Ohm
Kirsten Ohm (27 September 1930 – 20 July 1999) was a Norwegian diplomat. She was Norway's first female ambassador. She was born in Narvik, and graduated with the mag.art. degree in political science in 1956. Being the first woman to do so, she subsequently became the second woman to enrol in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs training programme in 1959. She was appointed to the foreign service in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1960, again as the first woman. In her early career she served as embassy secretary in Paris from 1961, being transferred to the Norwegian United Nations delegation in 1964. She returned to Norway for the time being in 1967. Narvik
( se, Áhkanjárga) is the third-largest municipality in Nordland county, Norway, by population. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Narvik. Some of the notable villages in the municipality include Ankenesstranda, Ballangen, Beisfjord, Bjerkvik, Bjørnfjell, Elvegård, Kjøpsvik, Skjomen, Håkvik, Hergot, Straumsnes, and Vidrek. The Elvegårdsmoen army camp is located near Bjerkvik. Narvik is located on the shores of the Ofotfjorden. The Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( Norwegian (Bokmål): ''Det kongelige utenriksdepartement''; Norwegian (Nynorsk): ''Det kongelege utanriksdepartement'') is the foreign ministry of the Kingdom of Norway. It was established on June 7, 1905, the same day the Parliament of Norway (Stortinget) decided to dissolve the personal union with Sweden. The ministry is headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, currently Anniken Huitfeldt, who is a minister in the Støre cabinet that has governed since 14 October 2021. The ministry also has a Minister of International Development.
