Ankenes is a List of former municipalities of Norway, former municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1884 until 1974. It encompassed most of the present-day Narvik Municipality, surrounding of the Narvik (town), town of Narvik which was once its own municipality. The administrative centre of Ankenes was the village of Ankenesstrand, situated along the west side of the Beisfjorden, where the Ankenes Church is located. The Ofotfjord (; ) is a fjord in Nordland county, Norway. It is an inlet of the Norwegian Sea, located about north of the Arctic Circle. Bjørnfjell, Nordland
Bjørnfjell () is a mountain village made up of holiday cottages in Narvik Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It's located along the Ofotbanen railway line and the European route E10 highway, just west of the border with Sweden. There is a railway station and the Bjørnfjell Chapel as well as many cabins and homes in the area. The name Bjørnfjell for short may often refer to the Bjørnfjell Railway Station. or is a village in Narvik Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The village is located at the end of Herjangsfjorden, an arm of Ofotfjorden. Ankenesstranda or Ankenesstrand (sometimes simply called "Ankenes") is a village area in Narvik Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The village area is a western suburb of the town of Narvik and just east of the village of Håkvik. The village lies at the confluence of the large Ofotfjorden and the smaller Beisfjorden. Beisfjord

The village is located about southeast of the town of Narvik, at the southeastern end of the long Beisfjorden (an arm off of the large Ofotfjorden).
