Kings Mountain is an unincorporated community in San Mateo County, California, located along State Route 35 (Skyline Boulevard) between Skeggs Point and Pise Mountain. This is about 5 miles (8 km) north of Woodside Road (SR84). The Santa Cruz Mountains, part of the Pacific Coast Ranges, are a mountain range in central and Northern California, United States. William Kapell (September 20, 1922October 29, 1953) was an American pianist and recording artist, killed at the age of 31 in the crash of a commercial airliner returning from a concert tour in Australia. Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve
The Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve is located on the western slopes of historic Kings Mountain in Woodside, California. This preserve was established with a $2 million gift from the Save the Redwoods League. Purisima Creek and several of its tributaries flow through the preserve. The main entrance for the Purisima Open Space is off the Skyline Boulevard section of State Route 35. The park is notable for its tall coastal redwoods, along with coastal scrub and hardwood forests of tanoak, madrones, and Douglas firs. The preserve overlooks Half Moon Bay, and has over of trails for hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding. The popular Redwood Trail is wheelchair accessible. Ben Lomond is a census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Cruz County, California, United States, and also the name of the mountain to the west. The CDP includes the communities of Glen Arbor and Brackney. The population was 6,337 at the 2020 census. History The nearby Ben Lomond Mountain was named after the mountain in Scotland by John Burns, a Scottish man who settled on the west side of the ridge in 1851. Half Moon Bay, California
Half Moon Bay is a coastal city in San Mateo County, California, United States, approximately south of San Francisco. Its population was 11,795 as of the 2020 census.
