Kildeskovhallen is a sports venue in Gentofte Municipality, Gentofte in northern Copenhagen, Denmark. History The original venue was designed by Karen and Ebbe Clemmensen and built in two phases. The swimming venue was built in 1966-1969. It was followed by two halls for ball games in 1970-1972. The complex was listed in 1998. The swimming venue was expanded with a new 50 m pool and a hot water basin designed by Entasis (company), Entasis in 2001. Facilities Kildeskovhallen is home ground for the basketball club SISU Copenhagen, Hellerup IK's handball side and Gentofte Volley. The facilities for swimmers include a 25 m pool, a 50 m pool, a children's pool, a baby pool and a hot water basin. Other facilities include conference rooms, a physiotherapist clinic, fitness centre and a restaurant. Gentofte Municipality
Gentofte Kommune is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the Capital Region of Denmark (''Region Hovedstaden'') on the east coast of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. Entasis (company)
Entasis is a Danish architecture firm based in Copenhagen. It takens its name from the Greek word for tension. History Entasis was founded by Christian and Signe Cold in 1996. Their first building, a new main entrance for Copenhagen Zoo, was awarded the AIA Prize 'Best Building in Europe 1998'. In 2007 the firm won the open international competition for the redevelopment of the former Carlsberg brewery site in Copenhagen, with a proposal which, in reaction to Modernist planning, relied on dense, Medieval town centres for inspiration. An emphasis on physical density and the human scale are characteristic of their work. The same trend is seen in their entry for the Søtorvet competition in Silkeborg which they won in 2010. SISU Basketball Klub is a Danish basketball club from Gentofte, Copenhagen founded in 1954. It takes its name from the Finnish term ''Sisu''. It is the oldest basketball club in Denmark.
