Kilcormac–Killoughey GAA
Kilcormac–Killoughey GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the areas of Kilcormac and Killoughey, County Offaly, Ireland. The club was founded in 1986 and fields teams in hurling and football. The club won its first ever Offaly Senior Hurling Championship in 2012 and retained the title in 2013. Stephen Byrne is the current manager. Offaly Intermediate Hurling Championship
The Offaly Intermediate Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition contested by mid-tier Offaly GAA clubs. The Offaly County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association has organised it since 1929. The national media covers the competition. Shamrocks are the title holders (2022) defeating Seir Kieran in the Final, after a replay. History The intermediate championship dates back to 1929. It was the third hurling championship to be established in Ofaly, and was seen as a stepping stone between the senior and junior hurling championships. Over the years the championship proved difficult to sustain. There were no finals in 1940 and 1941, while the 1949 decider was declared void. In 1959 the championship was suspended, however, it was revived in 1963, only to be suspended again until 1978. Ciarán Slevin
Ciarán Slevin (born 1986) is an Irish hurler who played as a centre-forward for the Offaly senior team. Slevin has played for Offaly at levels, beginning as a member of the county minor and under-21 hurling teams. He joined the senior team during the 2007 National League and was included on the panel for the subsequent championship. He enjoyed little success during his one season on the senior team. At club level Slevin is a one-time Leinster medalist with Kilcormac–Killoughey In addition to this he has also won one county club championship medal. Jack Screeney
Jack Screeney (born 2002) is an Irish hurler who plays for Offaly Championship club Kilcormac–Killoughey and formerly at inter-county level with the Offaly senior hurling team. He is a brother of Adam Screeney. Career Born in Kilcormac, County Offaly, Screeny first came to hurling prominence at juvenile and underage levels with the Kilcormac–Killoughey club. He first appeared on the inter-county scene during a two-year stint with the Offaly minor team where on his second year captained the side before later lining out with the under-20 team. Danny Owens
Daniel "Danny" Owens is an Irish retired hurler who played as a midfielder for the Offaly senior team. Born in Killoughey, County Offaly, Owens first played competitive hurling in his youth. He made his senior debut with Offaly during the 1980-81 National League and immediately became a regular member of the team. During his career Owens won two All-Ireland medals, five Leinster medals and one National Hurling League medal. At club level Owens played with Kilcormac–Killoughey. Throughout his career Owens made 25 championship appearances. His retirement came following the conclusion of the 1992 championship. In retirement from playing Owens became involved in team management and coaching. He is the current manager of Kilcormac–Killoughey and has guided the team to one Leinster and three championship titles. Noel Mitchell is an Irish retired hurler who played as a midfielder for the Offaly senior team. Born in Kinnitty, County Offaly, Mitchell first played competitive hurling in his youth. He made his senior debut with Offaly during the 1983-84 National League and immediately became a regular member of the team. Liam Currams
Liam Currams (born 26 January 1961) is an Irish former hurler and Gaelic footballer who played as a midfielder and left wing-back for both Offaly senior teams. His inter-county career lasted from 1980 until 1986. Currams holds a unique place in the annals of Gaelic games in Offaly as a successful dual player at the highest levels. He has won one All-Ireland medal and two Leinster medals in hurling, while has also won one All-Ireland medal and three Leinster medals in football. Currams has a number of personal achievements.
