Liam Currams
Liam Currams (born 26 January 1961) is an Irish former hurler and Gaelic footballer who played as a midfielder and left wing-back for both Offaly senior teams. His inter-county career lasted from 1980 until 1986. Currams holds a unique place in the annals of Gaelic games in Offaly as a successful dual player at the highest levels. He has won one All-Ireland medal and two Leinster medals in hurling, while has also won one All-Ireland medal and three Leinster medals in football. Currams has a number of personal achievements. He is one of only four players to have won All Stars Awards in both hurling and football. He is the only Offaly player to do so. At club level Currams played with Kilcormac–Killoughey. Kilcormac
Kilcormac () is a small town in County Offaly, Ireland, located on the N52 at its junction with the R437 regional road, between the towns of Tullamore and Birr. It is a small town of 935 people (as of the 2016 census), many of whom were previously employed by Bord na Móna to work the local peat bogs. The town is located near the Slieve Bloom Mountains. The Silver River flows through the town. The town was more commonly referred to as ''Frankford'' prior to Irish independence. Leinster Senior Football Championship
The Leinster Senior Football Championship, known simply as the Leinster Championship and shortened to Leinster SFC, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county Gaelic football competition in the province of Leinster, and has been contested every year since the 1888 championship. The final, currently held on the fourth Sunday in June, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during May and June, and the results determine which team receives the Delaney Cup. Dual Players
Dual player or dual star is a term used in Hiberno-English to describe someone who competes in multiple sports — for example, in Victorian Ireland, cricket and hurling. The term today in Gaelic games typically describes a male player who plays both Gaelic football and hurling or, if a female player, a player of ladies' Gaelic football and camogie. The player does not necessarily have to play at the same standard in both sports. The number of dual stars at county level has decreased recently due to the increasing demands placed upon the best players of both sports. The Gaelic Athletic Association-Gaelic Players' Association All Stars Awards (often known simply as the All Stars) are awarded annually to the best player in each of the 15 playing positions in Gaelic football and hurling. Additionally, one player in each code is selected as Player of the Year. The awards were instituted in 1971.
