Khokhlov or Hohlov (russian: Хохлов), feminine: Khokhlova or Hohlova, is a Russian surname derived from the word khokhol. In 2022, Russian footballer Dmitri Khokhlov sued Facebook for banning his surname due to its association with the word khokhol, which is offensive to Ukrainians. Dmitri Valeryevich Khokhlov (russian: Дмитрий Валерьевич Хохлов, born 22 December 1975) is a Russian football manager and a former player. He is an assistant coach with Sochi. He played as a holding midfielder or playmaker. Playing career Khokhlov played for PFC CSKA Moscow and FC Lokomotiv Moscow in native Russia, having abroad spells with Dutch club PSV Eindhoven and Spanish club Real Sociedad. Ivan Sergeyevich Khokhlov (russian: Иван Серге́евич Хохлов; 28 May 1895 – 11 February 1973) was a Soviet-Russian statesman who was from 1940 to 1943 the Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the Russian SFSR, literally meaning Premier or Prime Minister. Jana Vadimovna Khokhlova (russian: Яна Вадимовна Хохлова, born 7 October 1985) is a Russian former competitive ice dancer. Leonid Khokhlov (russian: Леонид Хохлов; born June 16, 1980) is a Russian former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. He represented Russia at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and later earned a bronze medal in the freestyle relay at the 2002 FINA Short Course World Championships.
