Khashuri District
Khashuri Municipality ( ka, ხაშურის მუნიციპალიტეტი) is a municipality of Georgia, in the region of Shida Kartli. Khashuri municipality is located at 690 meters above sea level. It is bordered on the east and north by Kareli Municipality, on the north by Sachkhere Municipality, on the south and west by Borjomi Municipality, and on the west by Kharagauli Municipality. Area of Khashuri municipality is 585.2 km2. The total length of the boundaries of the municipality is 118 kilometers. Distance from the capital to Khashuri is 120 km, and from the regional center is 47 km. Khashuri Municipality also has a favorable strategic location, as it is located at the crossroads of Eastern, Western and Southern Georgia. The Suramula ( ka, სურამულა) is a river in Khashuri Municipality, and a right tributary of the Ptsa, itself a tributary of the Kura. It starts at the left slope of Likhi Range, above sea level, and runs a length of . The basin is . This river is nourished by rain, snow, and groundwater. Tsromi Church
The church of Tsromi ( ka, წრომის ტაძარი)is an early medieval church in village Tsromi, in the vicinity of town Khashuri, in Shida Kartli region of Georgia. It is situated at the center of the village, along the right side of the river Mtkvari ( Kura). History According to the southern façade, the temple construction dates to the years 626–634, when it was built during the reign of Stephen II of Iberia. Ali (village)
Ali is a village in Georgia, Shida Kartli region, in Khashuri Municipality. The village is located on the right bank of Cheratkhevi river, 25 km to the North-East from Khashuri. The epochal monuments are: Dedaghvtisa, Kviratskhoveli, Usaneti, Janiaurebi churches. Ali was one of the advanced city of Middle Age Georgia. The reason of this development was its convenient geographical location. Ali advanced is a city in the 11th – 12th centuries due to the famous trade-caravan routes which passed through it and was a historic cross – road of Eastern and Western Georgia. From the North Ali was surrounded by Ali fortress and from the South – by Nabakhtevi fortress. In 18th century Ali was a royal town as well. Kvishkheti
The village Kvishkheti is located in the Khashuri district of the Shida Kartli region in the Republic of Georgia. It is situated between the Likhi mountain range to the west and the Trialeti Range to the east, and the Mtkvari River flows nearby. Kvishkheti's historical significance mainly comes from the 17th and 19th centuries. :''At the beginning of the 17th century Abbas I, Shah of Iran, drove the Turks out of Armenia, Kartli (Iberia) and Kakheti. The Turkish yoke was superseded by that of Iran. But in 1609 Kartli (Iberia) was invaded by the Turks and Crimean Tatars. They took prisoner Tevdoré, the priest of the village of Kvelta, and ordered him to show them the way to the residence of King Luarsab II (1605-1615).
