Khammam (urban) mandal is one of the 46 mandals in Khammam district of the Indian state of Telangana. It is under the administration of Khammam revenue division and has its headquarters at Khammam. The mandal is bounded by Kamepalli, Enkuru, Konijerla, Khammam (rural) and Chintakani mandals. The decennial Census of India has been conducted 16 times, as of 2021. While it has been undertaken every 10 years, beginning in 1872 under British Viceroy Lord Mayo, the first complete census was taken in 1881. The Telangana Legislative Assembly or Telangana Śāsana Sabha is the lower house of the Telangana Legislature.
