Perak
Perak () is a state of Malaysia on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula. Perak has land borders with the Malaysian states of Kedah to the north, Penang to the northwest, Kelantan and Pahang to the east, and Selangor to the south. Thailand's Yala and Narathiwat provinces both lie to the northeast. Perak's capital city, Ipoh, was known historically for its tin-mining activities until the price of the metal dropped, severely affecting the state's economy. The Democratic Action Party (abbreviation: DAP; ms, Parti Tindakan Demokratik; ; ta, ஜனநாயக செயல் கட்சி) is a Centre-left politics, centre-left social democracy, social democratic political party in Malaysia. As one of four component parties of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, it formed the federal government after defeating Barisan Nasional in the 2018 Malaysian general election, ending the party's 53 year-long stay in the opposition. The Alliance of Hope ( ms, Pakatan Harapan; abbrev: PH; stylized as HARAPAN) is a Malaysian political coalition consisting of centre-left political parties which was formed in 2015 to succeed the Pakatan Rakyat coalition. Daniel Wa Wai How (; born 25 July 1988) is a Malaysian politician. He is a member of Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA), a major component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. Wa originally from Bentong, Pahang after having graduated in Economy Studies at the National University of Malaysia (UKM), was the personal assistant to Lee Chee Leong, the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Kampar, Perak. He was the youngest BN candidate when he first contested in the 2013 General Election at the age of 25.
