Cypriot Second Division
The Cypriot Second Division ( el, Πρωτάθλημα Β΄ Κατηγορίας) is the second highest football division of the Cypriot football league system. Administrated by the Cyprus Football Association, it is contested by 16 teams, with the top two teams being promoted to the Cypriot First Division and the last four teams being relegated to the Cypriot Third Division. The Cypriot Third Division (Greek: Πρωτάθλημα Γ΄ Κατηγορίας) is the third tier football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league are promoted to the Cypriot Second Division, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to the STOK Elite Division. History The Cypriot Third Division was held for the first time in the 1970–71 season as the third level of the Cypriot football. The 1980–81 Cypriot Third Division was the tenth season of the Cypriot third-level football league. Kentro Neotitas Maroniton won their 1st title. Format Thirteen teams participated in the 1980–81 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The 1990–91 Cypriot Fourth Division was the 6th season of the Cypriot fourth-level football league. The championship was split into three geographical groups, representing the Districts of Cyprus. The winners were: * Nicosia-Keryneia Group: AEK Kakopetrias * Larnaca-Famagusta Group: Achyronas Liopetriou * Limassol-Paphos Group: Kentro Neotitas Maroniton The three winners were promoted to the 1991–92 Cypriot Third Division.
