Kennedy St-Pierre
Joseph Kennedy St-Pierre (born 23 October 1992) is a Mauritian boxer who represented Mauritius at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where he competed in the men's heavyweight competition. He is a two time African Games gold medalist (one in the middleweight division and one in the heavyweight division) and a one time Commonwealth Games silver medalist (in the light heavyweight division). St-Pierre has also competed in another Commonwealth Games and an African Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament. Competition St-Pierre's debut at an international sporting competition was at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India. He reached the quarterfinals of the men's welterweight competition before losing 13–1 to Carl Hield of the Bahamas. 2011 All-Africa Games
The 10th All-Africa Games took place between September 3–18, 2011 in Maputo, Mozambique. Maputo's hosting marked the third time the Games was held in the southern part of the continent. Host awarding In April 2005, Lusaka, Zambia was named the host of the 10th Games by the Supreme Council for Sport in Africa at a meeting in Algeria. In 2004, Ghana had indicated an interest in hosting the Games, but reportedly withdrew its bid. In December 2008, the Zambian government withdrew its offer to host the 2011 Games, due to a lack of funds. Efetobor Wesley Apochi
Efetobor Wesley Apochi (born 2 November 1987 in Orogun, Delta State, Nigeria) is the captain of the Nigerian boxing team and has represented Nigeria in several international tournaments as a heavyweight. Efetobor Apochi entered international boxing competition at the 2011 All-Africa Games, where he surprised the boxing world by taking second. Apochi then represented Nigeria at the 2013 World Championships, winning his first match before falling to the eventual gold medalist, Teymur Mammadov. In January 2014, Apochi joined the Mexico Guerreros of the World Series of Boxing. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Efetobor Apochi captained the Nigerian boxing team. 2015 African Games
The 11th African Games took place from September 4–19, 2015 in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo. This edition marked the 50th anniversary of the Games, as well as their return to Brazzaville, which hosted the first edition in 1965. Host awarding Ghana, Kenya and Congo all showed interest in bidding for the 11th edition of the Games. On September 14, 2011, the Supreme Council for Sports in Africa awarded the rights to Brazzaville to host. Name change In January 2012 during the Executive Council meeting of the African Union held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia was taken a decision for the name change from All-Africa Games to African Games. Annabelle Laprovidence (born 31 August 1992) is a Mauritian judoka, who has competed for her country internationally. She won a bronze medal in the women's +75 kg class at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. Career Annabelle Laprovidence was born on 31 August 1992, and began competing internationally for Mauritius in 2011 when she took part in the African Under-20 Championships in Antananarivo, Madagascar. She won bronze in her class at Agadir, Morocco in the 2012 African Judo Championships. Laprovidence also competed at those championships in subsequent years, but failed to win any further medals. She competed for Mauritius at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. David Nyika
David Kieran Nyika (born 7 August 1995) is a New Zealand professional boxer. As an amateur, he won a gold medal at both the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games as well as competing at the 2017 and 2019 World Championships. Nathan Thorley
Nathan Thorley (born 18 April 1993) is former Welsh professional boxer who challenged for the Commonwealth cruiserweight title in August 2020. As an amateur he competed for Wales in the light-heavyweight category at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where he won a bronze medal. He turned professional in 2015, winning the Welsh light-heavyweight title two years later by defeating Jermaine Asare.
