Keira Stephens (born 17 March 2003) is an Australian Paralympic swimmer. At the 2020 Summer Paralympics, she won two bronze medals. She has a been selected to compete at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, France. Personal life Stephens was born on 17 March 2003 in England. She was born missing fingers on her left hand. She comes from Hervey Bay, Queensland and attended Xavier Catholic College. Swimming career Stephens started swimming at the Hervey Bay swimming club under coach Paul Jones. She is classified as a S10 swimmer. Her first international competition was the 2018 Pan Pacific Para Swimming Championships, Cairns, where she won the silver medal in the Women’s 100m Breaststroke SB9. S10 (classification)
S10, SB9, SM10 are Paralympic sports#Classification, disability swimming classifications used for categorizing swimmers based on their level of disability. Swimmers in this class tend to have minimal weakness affecting their legs, missing feet, a missing leg below the knee or problems with their hips. This class includes a number of different disabilities including people with amputations and cerebral palsy. The classification is governed by the International Paralympic Committee, and competes at the Paralympic Games. Definition This classification is for swimming (sport), swimming. In the classification title, S represents Freestyle, Backstroke and Butterfly strokes. SB means breaststroke. SM means individual medley. Swimming classifications are on a gradient, with one being the most severely physically impaired to ten having the least amount of physical disability. 2019 World Para Swimming Championships
The 2019 World Para Swimming Championships is the 2019 edition of the World Para Swimming Championships run by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The championships were held from February to June in seven countries across five continents and served as a qualifying event for Paralympic swimming at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. The event was sponsored by Allianz. In 2017, the IPC announced that the event would be hosted in Kuching, Malaysia. However, on 27 January 2019, Malaysia were stripped of their hosting rights because their government refused to allow Israeli athletes into the country to compete. On 15 April 2019, London, United Kingdom was announced as the new host for the championships, now rescheduled to take place from 9 - 15 September. 2023 World Para Swimming Championships
The 2023 World Para Swimming Championships was the 12th edition of the World Para Swimming Championships, an international swimming competition for swimmers with disabilities. It was held in Manchester, Great Britain from 31 July to 6 August 2023. This was the third time that Great Britain have hosted the World Para Swimming Championships with Glasgow hosting in 2015 and London hosting in 2019. The World Championships serves as a qualifier for the 2024 Summer Paralympics where two top swimmers in each individual medal event final will be automatically selected to compete at the Paralympics. As a swimmer can only hold one quota, which makes them eligible for all events in their classification for which they have a qualifying time, unrequired quotas are returned to be distributed later. Isabella Vincent (swimmer)
Isabella Vincent (born 14 January 2006) is an Australian Paralympic swimmer. At the age of fifteen, she was the youngest Australian swimmer selected for the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, where she won a silver and bronze medal. Personal Vincent lives in Adelaide, South Australia. She was born with sacral agenesis or caudal regression syndrome. She attended Marryatville Primary School. Emily Beecroft (born 19 November 1999) is an Australian Paralympic swimmer. She represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics,2020 Tokyo Paralympics and has been selected for 2024 Summer Paralympics. She won a silver and bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Personal life Beecroft was born on 19 November 1999, a triplet with two sisters. She lived in Traralgon, Victoria. She was born deaf in her left ear and with a right arm limb deficiency.
