The Kefefs ( el, Κηφεύς) or Kifefs, Kefeus is a Greek-made bolt-action sniper rifle designed by Hellenic Arms Industry in 1986 and named after an ancient mythical king. The Kefefs fires rounds chambered in 7.62 × 51 mm NATO. Design details The Kefefs rifle contains the following features: * It has a cold-hammered, high-precision, free-floating, exposed barrel made of special high-grade steel while its receiver, bolt and all metal components are also made of special steel. * It uses a simple and robust bolt-action mechanism with a 50° opening angle, enables the bolt to be flexible and easy to open. The Hellenic Arms Industry ( el, Ελληνική Βιομηχανία Όπλων, links=no, ''Elliniki Viomichania Oplon'', abbreviated EBO) has been the main arms manufacturer of Greece. Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (Greece)
The Special Suppressive Antiterrorist Unit ( el, ΕΚΑΜ – Ειδική Κατασταλτική Αντιτρομοκρατική Μονάδα, ''Eidiki Katastaltiki Antitromokratiki Monada'', EKAM) is the Greek counter-terrorism unit of the Hellenic Police. It is the most distinguished part of the Hellenic Police. It was formed in 1978 when two counter-terrorist units were created within the two police divisions that existed then (Hellenic Gendarmerie and the Cities Police), which were united into a single body in 1984, the Hellenic Police. Bolt Action
Bolt-action is a type of manual firearm action that is operated by ''directly'' manipulating the bolt via a bolt handle, which is most commonly placed on the right-hand side of the weapon (as most users are right-handed). Most bolt-action firearms use a rotating bolt design, where the handle must first be rotated upward to unlock the bolt from the receiver, then pulled back to open the breech and allowing any spent cartridge case to be extracted and ejected. This also cocks the striker within the bolt (either on opening or closing of the bolt depending on the gun design) and engages it against the sear. A magazine is an ammunition storage and feeding device for a repeating firearm, either integral within the gun (internal/fixed magazine) or externally attached (detachable magazine).
