Kazakhstan participated in the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya, Turkey from 9 to 18 August 2022. The games had been rescheduled several times. In May 2021, the ISSF postponed the event to August 2022 citing the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the participating countries. Wrestling At The 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games
Wrestling at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games were held in Konya, Turkey from 10 to 13 August 2022. Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) has the right to participate with a maximum of one wrestler per weight category in all styles (Greco-Roman, women and freestyle). The maximum number of athletes per delegation is 30.All competitors must be of senior age category (born on or before 31 December 2004). The competitions take place by direct elimination system with an ideal number of wrestlers, i.e. 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, etc. If there is no ideal number of wrestlers in a category, qualification matches will take place. Matching is done in the order of numbers determined by the draw made by UWW. 4 Each weight category begins and ends in a day. Elzhana Taniyeva
Elzhana Taniyeva (russian: Эльжана Таниева; born 6 September 2005) is a Kazakh rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2024 Asian all-around champion and will represent Kazakhstan at the 2024 Summer Olympics. She is the 2022 Asian Games all-around and team silver medalist. She won three medals at the 2021 Summer World University Games and four medals at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games. Early life Taniyeva took up rhythmic gymnastics at age four, following her older sister. She grew up in Almaty, but at age 10, she moved to Shymkent for her gymnastics training. Junior career Taniyeva won gold medals in the all-around, hoop, ball, and ribbon and a silver medal in the clubs at the 2018 Asian Cup.
