Kavi Kag Award
Kavi Kag Award (Gujarati language, Gujarati: કવિ કાગ ઍવોર્ડ) is an annual award named after the Gujarati poet Dula Bhaya Kag, given to folk artists, writers, scholars and institutions for contributions to Gujarati Oral literature, folk as well as Charan literature. It was instituted in 2002 with the inspiration and blessings of Morari Bapu. The award is presented every year on the death anniversary of Dula Bhaya Kag, on ''Kag Chauth'' (Fagan Sud Chauth), at Kagdham (Majadar), Amreli. Five awards are given to folk artists and writers of Gujarati language, Gujarati, and one award is given to a Rajasthani languages, Rajasthani scholar for research in the field of literature. The recipients are honored with an incentive of Rs 51000/-, mementos, and shawls. Kavi Kag
Dula Bhaya Kag (25 November 1903 – 22 February 1977) or Kag Bapu was an Indian poet, songwriter, writer, and artist born in 1903 in Sodvadari village, a village in the Saurashtra (region), Saurashtra region, near Mahuva, Bhavnagar, Mahuva in the Indian state of Gujarat. He is mainly known for his work on spiritual poetry relating to Hinduism. He was facilitated with Padma Shri award in the year 1962. Early life He was born in a Charan family in 1903 at Sodvadari, a village of his Maternal Parents. "He was very shy in his childhood" told by his relative. Kag received a 5th-grade education before leaving to tend his family's cattle and farm. Upendra Jethalal Trivedi (14 July 1936 4 January 2015) was an Indian film and stage actor, director and producer who was one of the most prolific actors of Gujarati cinema. Rajasthani Literature
Rajasthani literature written in various genres starting from 1000 AD. But, it is generally agreed that modern Rajasthani literature began with the works of Suryamal Misran. His most important works are the Vansa Bhaskara and the Vir Satsai. The Vans Bhaskar contains accounts of the Rajput princes who ruled in what was then Rajputana (at present the state of Rajasthan), during the lifetime of the poet (1872–1952). The Vir Satsai is a collection of hundreds of couplets. Medieval Rajasthani literature is mostly poetry only and it is more about the heroic poetry mentioning of the great kings and fighters of the Rajasthan. as said by Rabindra Nath Tagore once, "The heroic sentiment which is the essence of every song and couplet of a Rajasthani is peculiar emotion of its own of which, however, the whole country may be proud". Bhanwar Singh Samaur (born 15 August 1943) is an Indian writer, poet, historian, and social worker from Rajasthan. Samaur is the recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award 2020 (in Rajasthani language) for his work ''Sanskriti ri Sanatana Deeth''. His career has spanned more than 50 years including works on history, literature, and poetry in Rajasthani as well as Hindi.
