Bhanwar Singh Samaur
Bhanwar Singh Samaur (born 15 August 1943) is an Indian writer, poet, historian, and social worker from Rajasthan. Samaur is the recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award 2020 (in Rajasthani language) for his work ''Sanskriti ri Sanatana Deeth''. His career has spanned more than 50 years including works on history, literature, and poetry in Rajasthani as well as Hindi. Dr. Samaur is a retired Hindi Lecturer from Lohia Postgraduate College, Churu. Samaur is considered an expert on Marwari (Rajasthani) language. His ongoing work is Rajasthani (Marwari)-English-Hindi Dictionary. In February 2020, he was awarded the Kavi Shri Kag Bapu Lok Sahitya Award. Churu, Rajasthan
Churu is a city in the desert region of Rajasthan state of India. It is known as the gateway to the Thar Desert of Rajasthan. It is the administrative headquarter of Churu District. It lies in the Thar Desert on the National Highway 52 connecting Sangrur to Ankola and is a junction station on the railway line to Bikaner. It is near the shifting sand dunes of the Thar Desert and has grand havelis with marvelous fresco paintings, namely ''Kanhaiya Lal Bagla Ki Haweli'' and ''Surana Haweli'', with hundreds of small windows. Marwari People
The Marwari or Marwadi (Hindi: मारवाड़ी, Urdu: مارواڑی) are an Indian ethnic group that originate from the Rajasthan region of India. Their language, also called Marwari, comes under the umbrella of Rajasthani languages, which is part of the Western Zone of Indo-Aryan languages. They have been a highly successful business community, first as inland traders during the era of Rajput kingdoms, and later also as investors in industrial production and other sectors. Churu People
The Churu (or Chru) people are a Chams related ethnic group living mainly in Lâm Đồng Province, Central Highlands of Vietnam. They speak Chru, a Malayo-Polynesian language. The group's population was 23,242 in 2019. During the French colonial period, the most influential highland leaders in Đà Lạt area were Churu. They were said to be the most advanced among the highlanders because of their historical links to the Chams. Sahitya Akademi
The Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters, is an organisation dedicated to the promotion of literature in the languages of India. Founded on 12 March 1954, it is supported by, though independent of, the Indian government. Its office is located in Rabindra Bhavan near Mandi House in Delhi. Sitaram Lalas
Sitaram Lalas (29 December 1912 – 29 December 1986) (known as Sita Ramji maadsaab) was a linguist and lexicographer of India. He produced a written dictionary of the Rajasthani language – first ever in the language with name: Rajasthani Shabd (Sabada) Kosh and Rajasthani Hindi Brihad Kosha. This perhaps is one of the voluminous dictionaries of the world consisting of more than words. The dictionary contains not only the meanings but the origin, synonyms, idioms and phrases based upon each word. It is named ''Rajasthani Bhasha-Sahitya evam Vyakarana'' and was first published in 1962.The volume was acclaimed as a significant academic work by national and international scholars.
