Kathy Brown (curler)
Kathy Brown (born July 12, 1960) is an American dance and house singer from South Carolina. Her credits include vocals on the songs "Turn Me Out (Turn to Sugar)" and "Strings of Life (Stronger on My Own)". Career Brown began singing in her local gospel choir. After joining the contemporary R&B group Sweet Cinnamon. Kathy met with New York-based producer David Shaw through a mutual friend. This collaboration led to her first single, "Can't Play Around", released in 1993 which was a number thirteen hit on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. Brown scored number one success as the lead singer of Praxis, a musical project assembled by producers Cevin Fisher and David Shaw. Praxis's "Turn Me Out", first released in 1994, has been remixed and re-released several times since, with two subsequent US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart entries, including 1997's "Turn Me Out (Turn To Sugar)", which hit number one. The European Hot 100 Singles was compiled by ''Billboard'' and ''Music & Media'' magazine from March 1984 until December 2010. The Official Charts (legal name: The Official UK Charts Company Limited) is a British inter-professional organization that compiles various "official" record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France. In the United Kingdom, its charts include ones for singles, albums and films, with the data compiled from a mixture of downloads, purchases (of physical media) and streaming. The Dutch Single Top 100 or Single Top 100 is a Dutch chart, based on official physical single sales, legal downloads and since July 2013 streaming and composed by Dutch Charts. It is one of the three official charts, the other two being the Dutch Top 40 and the Mega Top 30. The difference is that these charts also include airplay data. The list is especially intended for the music industry and those who take an interest in charts. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published, one on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia. Dance Club Songs is a chart published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine in the United States. It is a national look over of club disc jockeys to determine the most popular songs being played in nightclubs across the country. The Herbaliser is an English jazz hip hop group formed by Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba in London, England during the early 1990s. Although currently releasing on their own label and having previously been signed to !K7 Records, they were one of the best-known acts from the Ninja Tune independent record label. They have released 12 albums, including two DJ mixes: one for Ninja Tune's Solid Steel series and the other for Fabric's Live Mix series. The Herbaliser's album ''Same As It Never Was'' was their first release on !K7 Records. Their latest album ''Bring Out The Sound'' was released in 2018, on the BBE label.
