Katherine Winder Cochella (born 23 April 1992) is a Peruvian badminton player. She educated at the Universidad del Pacífico Lima, and in 2015, Winder competed at the Pan Am Games in the women's and mixed doubles event. In the women's doubles she placed 7th, while in the mixed doubles she won the bronze medal partnered with Mario Cuba. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Markham Pan Am Centre
The Markham Pan Am Centre is a multi-purpose community and aquatics centre located in the new downtown area of Markham, Ontario, Canada. The facility was designed to host the badminton, table tennis and water polo events for the 2015 Pan American Games, held in nearby Toronto in July and August, 2015. Rachel Honderich
Rachel Honderich (born 21 April 1996) is a Canadian badminton player from Toronto, Ontario. She has been one of the top ranked women's individual and doubles player on the continent and a contender in major international competitions. She is a vice-national champion in women's singles and has won several international titles since 2010. Career Honderich won her first senior international title at the 2014 Czech International tournament in the women's doubles partnered with Michelle Li. Honderich clinched the silver and bronze medals at the 2015 Pan American Games in the women's singles and doubles respectively. At the 2017 Pan American Championships, she crowned double titles, won the women's singles and mixed doubles event. She competed at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games. Toby Ng
Tobias Ng (born 8 October 1985) is a Canadian badminton player. Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Ng's father is from Hong Kong and his mother from Macau. He started playing badminton at the Kensington Community Centre, when he was about six years old. He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the mixed doubles event with partner Grace Gao. His younger brother, Derrick Ng, is also an elite level player. Since 2020, Toby coaches advanced to professional level athletes at the Bellevue Badminton Club. Coliseo de la Ciudad Deportiva is an indoor sporting arena located in Havana, Cuba. Built in 1957, the Coliseum is one of the most important works of Cuban Civil Engineering. Valérie "Val" Loker (born May 1, 1980) is a Canadian badminton player. She won a silver medal, along with her partner Mike Beres in the mixed doubles at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, against the winning U.S. pair Howard Bach and Eva Lee, with a score of 18–21 and 17–21. Loker is also a member of Club Excellence Yonex Laval in Montreal, Quebec, and is coached and trained by Jean-Paul Girard. Claudia Zornoza Roca-Rey (born 12 February 1990) is a Peruvian female badminton player. She came into international badminton arena after claiming gold medal in the women's doubles partnering with Katherine Winder at the 2008 Puerto Rico International. She also clinched the gold medal in the mixed doubles at the 2009 Puerto Rico International partnering with Bruno Monteverde.
