Kateryna Babkina
Kateryna Babkina ( ua, Катерина Бабкіна) (born 22 July 1985) is a Ukrainian poet, short story writer, novelist, playwright and screenwriter. The winner of Angelus Central European Literature Award (2021). Career Babkina was born in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine in 1985. She attended Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv to study journalism and graduated in 2007, going on to work as a freelance journalist. She worked as a contributing editor for ''Esquire'' in Ukraine (2012-2014). She also has had articles published in '' Focus'', ''Business'' and ''Le Monde'' amongst others. Kateryna was the first Ukrainian author to have her readings at the Library of Congress, USA. Her book ''My Grandfather Danced the Best'' won the 2021 Angelus Award. In 2022, Kateryna’s novella for children “Cappy and the Whale” was published in translation by Penguin Random House, UK. Ivano-Frankivsk
Ivano-Frankivsk ( uk, Іва́но-Франкі́вськ, translit=Iváno-Frankívśk ), formerly Stanyslaviv ( pl, Stanisławów ; german: Stanislau), is a city located in Western Ukraine. It is the administrative centre of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and Ivano-Frankivsk Raion. Ivano-Frankivsk hosts the administration of Ivano-Frankivsk urban hromada. Angelus Award
The Angelus Central European Literature Award also known as Angelus Award (Polish: ''Nagroda Literacka Europy Środkowej Angelus'') is a Polish international literary award established in 2006 and presented by the city of Wrocław, Lower Silesia. The award is given annually for best prose books written in or translated into the Polish language by a living author originating from Central Europe whose works "undertake themes most relevant to the present day, encourage reflection and deepen the knowledge of the world of other cultures." The winners of the award receive a cash prize amounting to PLN 150,000 (€35,000) and a statuette designed by sculptor Ewa Rossano. ''Business'' (russian: Би́знес; uk, Бізне с) is a Ukrainian Russian-language weekly business newspaper published every Monday. 1992–1994 The newspaper was first published in Kyiv in November 1992. The idea was put forward by Sergey Melnichuk. The motto of the publication was "Read! Think! Do!" The first two years of ''Business'' was a collection of leaflets about buying and selling. Sergei Melnichuk directly supervised the release. 1994–1998 In 1994 he decided to broaden the focus to provide economic news and analysis material. TVN24 is a Polish 24-hour commercial news channel, launched on 9 August 2001. Being a part of the TVN Network, TVN24 has been owned since July 2017 by US-based media company Warner Bros. Discovery. It gained broader popularity after the September 11, 2001 attacks in the US, which was the first major incident to be covered by TVN24.
