Karmen Škulj
Carmen Wiedenmann (born 25 November 1967) is a Slovenian former professional tennis player. During her career she represented Yugoslavia and was known by her birth name Karmen Škulj. Biography Škulj comes from a family with a history in tennis. Two uncles Aleksander and Borut both played competitively and her aunty Irena competed for Yugoslavia in the Federation Cup. The Škulj Tenis Center in Dobrova was established by the family. From 1986 to 1988, Škulj appeared in a total of eight ties for the Yugoslavia Federation Cup team. She also represented Yugoslavia at the 1989 Hopman Cup, where she teamed up with Slobodan Živojinović. Škulj has a niece, Maja Živec-Škulj, who played on the WTA Tour in the 1990s. Her son Luca featured on the ITF junior circuit and plays collegiate tennis for the University of Tennessee. Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to manoeuvre the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The player who is unable to return the ball validly will not gain a point, while the opposite player will. Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society and at all ages. Viktoria Mikhailovna Belinsky (née Milvidskaia, 20 April 1967) is a former professional tennis player from Russia. Her highest WTA rankings were 168 in singles and 145 in doubles. Early life Belinsky began playing tennis at the age of seven in Moscow. She played for the famous Spartak tennis club, and her coaches were Alexandra Granaturova and Larisa Preobrazhenskaya. In 1983, she won the First International Tournament in Moscow which earned her the honour of Master of Sports of the USSR, International Class (equates to international champion). Natalia Vladimirovna Egorova (russian: Наталья Владимировна Егорова, Natalya Vladimirovna Yegorova; née Bykova, born 13 September 1966) is a retired professional tennis player who represented the Soviet Union and Russia. Renata Šašak-Ružir (born 14 June 1964) is a former Yugoslavian professional tennis player. Biography Born in Zagreb, Šašak debuted for the Yugoslavia Federation Cup team in 1979. One of her Federation Cup doubles teammates was Mima Jaušovec, who Šašak teamed up with to win a gold medal at the 1979 Mediterranean Games. She won a further gold medal four years in Casablanca at the 1983 Mediterranean Games, beating Laura Golarsa to win the women's singles. Šašak competed in the main draw of both the French Open and US Open during her career. Her best performance came at the 1983 French Open, where she made it to the second round, then took fifth seed Pam Shriver to a third set before being eliminated. Joy Tacon (born 2 June 1961) is a British former professional tennis player. Tacon was born in 1961 and is a graduate of Wycombe Abbey School. She attended the University of Houston on a tennis scholarship. At the 1985 University Games in Kobe, she teamed up with Liz Jones to win a silver medal for Great Britain in doubles.
