Karlen Avetisyan
Karlen Avetisyan ( hy, Կառլեն Ավետիսյան, November 28, 1940 – May 7, 2004) was an Armenian painter and restorer. Biography Karlen Avetisyan was born in the village of Arevshat, Soviet Armenia. In 1961 he graduated from the Fine Arts College named after P. Terlemezyan, in 1969 - the Armenian Academy of Fine Arts and Theatre. During 1970–1988 he worked as a painter-restorer at the Monuments Protection Department. Since 1977 Avetisyan had been teaching in the Fine Arts College after P. Terlemezian, during 1996-2004 he served as a professor of composition at the Fine Arts Academy of Armenia. Karlen Avetisyan died on May 7, 2004. Works Karlen Avetisyan is the author of mural paintings (Grand Hotel Yerevan, 1999) and tapestry which are kept in House-Museum of Khachatur Abovyan (1973), curtain-tapestry in Sports and Music Hall after K. Karen Demirchyan Complex
Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex (Armenian: ), also known as Demirchyan Arena, Sports & Music Complex, or simply Hamalir (for complex in Armenian), is a large multi-purpose sports and concert complex with 184 stairs leading up Tsitsernakaberd hill which dominates over the western parts of Yerevan, near the Hrazdan River gorge. The complex consists of two main halls; the Concerts hall and the Sports hall, in addition to the large foyer, ''Hayastan'' conference hall and ''Argishti'' hall designated for diplomatic meetings, exhibitions and other events. In August 2015, the government of Armenia decided to sell the complex to a private firm with plans to renovate the complex and turn it into a "family-oriented center". Grigor Khanjyan
Grigor Khanjyan ( hy, Գրիգոր Խանջյան; 29 November 1926 – 19 April 2000) was a Soviet-Armenian artist, painter, and illustrator. He is most notable for his illustrations of historical novels and poems, and murals and tapestries on historical topics. In 1983 Khanjyan was appointed a member of the highest order of chivalry in Soviet art (only 159 members during Soviet history) – the " People's Artist of Soviet Union". Biography Early years Khanjyan was born in Yerevan, Soviet Armenia. He was the fourth and last child of Sebuh and Verginie - genocide survivors from Yerznka, who settled in Armenia in 1920. Grigor mentioned on several occasions that a doctor had advised his mother, already in relatively advanced age, to get pregnant in order to avoid some health problems and that is the reason for him to be conceived.
