Karjasilta
Karjasilta is a district in the Höyhtyä area in the city of Oulu, Finland. The district close to the city centre is bordered by the Raksila district to the north, Finnish national road 4 to the east, the Vanhatulli and Limingantulli districts to the west and the Nokela and Höyhtyä districts to the south. Karjasilta is mainly a residential area with detached housing and apartment blocks built in the 1940s and 1950s. The most of the district residential area is taken up by simple wooden houses built for the World War II veterans. Karjasilta was voted as the best neighbourhood to live in Finland in 2009. Oulu Symphony Orchestra
The Oulu Symphony Orchestra ( fi, Oulu Sinfonia or ') is a Finnish orchestra based in Oulu, Finland. Oulu Sinfonia gives concerts primarily at the Oulu Music Centre, in the ''Madetojan sali'' (Madetoja Concert Hall), located in the Karjasilta district, and named for Leevi Madetoja, who was born in Oulu. History The roots of the orchestra date back to 1856, with the first attempts to establish a permanent orchestra in Oulu. The Oulu Music Society (''Oulun Soitannollisen Seuran'') was established in 1901, and worked with such musicians as Toivo Kuula and Jean Sibelius. The current orchestra officially began its activities in 1937, as the Oulu Orchestra. In 1954, the city of Oulu granted the orchestra the rights to use the name of the Oulu City Orchestra, and municipalised the orchestra in 1961. Postal Codes In Finland
Finland has used five-digit numeric postal codes since the 1970s. The first and second digits designate the general area of the municipality of the address, while the last three designate a smaller region within that larger area. The numeric postal code is usually accompanied by a written name for the smaller region. Raksila
Raksila is a District of the city centre area of Oulu, Finland. It is bounded by the Oulu railway station to the west, the Oulu Cemetery in the Intiö district to the north, the Finnish national road 4 to the east and the Finnish national road 22 to the south. Vanhatulli
Vanhatulli is a district of the city centre area of Oulu, Finland. Together with the districts of Pokkinen and Vaara, Vanhatulli forms the central business district of Oulu. It is bounded by the estuary of the Oulujoki river to the west, the Pokkinen and Vaara districts to the north, the Leveri and Hollihaka districts to the south and the railway to the east. Besides commercial area, Vanhatulli also has got residential neighbourhoods like the historic Kuusiluoto neighbourhood by the river Oulujoki and the new urban neighbourhood of Etu-Lyötty along the railway.
