Kam Sheung Road Station
Kam Sheung Road () is an MTR station on the , located between Pat Heung and Kam Tin in Hong Kong. It is situated between and stations. Kam Sheung Road was the arena for the KCR West Rail's opening ceremony. History On 20 December 2003, Kam Shueng Road station opened to the public along with other KCR West Rail stations. On 27 June 2021, the officially merged with the (which was already extended into the ''Tuen Ma line Phase 1'' at the time) in East Kowloon to form the new , as part of the Shatin to Central link project. Hence, Kam Sheung Road was included in the project and is now an intermediate station on the Tuen Ma line. Description The station is an elevated structure along the viaduct to the north of one of the two rail depots of the Tuen Ma line. Kam Tin
Kam Tin, or Kam Tin Heung, is an area in the New Territories, Hong Kong. It lies on a flat alluvial plain north of Tai Mo Shan mountain and east of Yuen Long town. It was formerly known as Sham Tin (岑田). Administratively, it is part of Yuen Long District. Many of Kam Tin's residents are from the Tang Clan, who are of the Punti culture, not Hakka as is often misattributed. History Kam Tin is the origin of the biggest indigenous Tang Clan () in Hong Kong. The ancestor of indigenous Tang, Tang Hon Fat () settled his family from Jiangxi to Sham Tin in 973. Tuen Ma Line
The Tuen Ma line () is a rapid transit line that forms part of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system in Hong Kong. Coloured brown on the map, the Tuen Ma line is in length, making it the longest line of the MTR network. It has a total of 27 stations, more than any other in the MTR system. The Tuen Ma line is a merger of the two former MTR lines, the West Rail line and the Ma On Shan line, via a new stretch of mostly-underground railway known as the "Tai Wai to Hung Hom section" () of the Sha Tin to Central Link project, consisting of of track and six new intermediate stations. An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. The New Territories is one of the three main regions of Hong Kong, alongside Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula. Lok Ma Chau Spur Line
The Lok Ma Chau Spur Line is the second railway link between Hong Kong and Mainland China, relieving passenger congestion at Lo Wu station. The alignment branches off the existing MTR East Rail line north of Sheung Shui station and then runs to the Lok Ma Chau station where customs and immigration facilities are provided. The terminus is connected to Futian Checkpoint station (formerly named as Huanggang station) of the Shenzhen Metro Line 4 by a pedestrian bridge across the Shenzhen River. The KCRC has adopted a combined tunnel and viaduct scheme for the spur line. The Shek Kong Airfield (ICAO: VHSK), formerly Royal Air Force Station Sek Kong or Sek Kong Airfield, is an airfield ( airbase) located in Shek Kong, New Territories, Hong Kong.
