Kalyan Kumar
Kalyan Kumar (7 June 1928 – 1 August 1999) was an Indian actor, and an occasional film director and producer who worked primarily in Kannada cinema, Kannada and Tamil cinema. Making his acting debut in the mythological drama ''Natashekara'' (1954), Kalyan Kumar went on to star in over 200 films in a span of over five decades. He was among the much sought after actors in the 1950s through 1970s for lead roles. Kalyan Kumar has the credit of being the first ever Kannada actor to star in a colour film in ''Amarashilpi Jakanachari'' (1963). Alongside Kumar, the 1960s and 1970s in Kannada cinema was dominated by two other actors, Dr. Rajkumar, Rajkumar and Udaya Kumar (actor), Udayakumar. At a time when actors had a tough time establishing themselves, Kalyan Kumar being successful not only in Kannada cinema, also made a mark in Tamil cinema. ''Malaikkallan'' () is a 1954 Indian Tamil-language action film starring P. Bhanumathi and M. G. Ramachandran. The film was released on 22 July 1954, and was an astounding success and highest collection of the year. It ran more than 140 days in Chennai and all other major cities. Belli Moda
''Belli Moda'' () is a 1967 Kannada-language film directed by Puttanna Kanagal. It was based on the novel of same name by Anasuya Shankar, Triveni. Kanagal remade the movie in Malayalam in 1967 as ''Swapnabhoomi'' and in Telugu in 1968 as ''Palamanasulu''. This was the first Kannada movie to be shot completely outdoors. Plot Indira (played by Kalpana (Kannada actress), Kalpana) is the heiress of her father's estate, named "Belli Moda". A young man, Mohan (Kalyan Kumar) visits the estate to meet Indira's father (K. S. Ashwath) and petition for a financial scholarship from their club for his higher studies in the USA. Shubraveshti Ramaswamiah Seetharama Sharma (1 December 1933 – 5 June 1985), known popularly as S. R. Puttanna Kanagal, was an Indian filmmaker known for his work in Kannada cinema. He is often considered one of Kannada cinema's most influential filmmakers. Bommasandra Srinivasaiah Suryanarayana Murthy (16 March 1933 – 26 December 1985), known by his screen name Udaykumar, was an Indian actor and producer in Kannada cinema. He, along with Kalyan Kumar and Rajkumar, were called the ''Kumarathrayaru'' (meaning the three Kumars) of Kannada cinema He has authored many dramas and books. Bhoodan Movement
The Bhoodan movement (Land Gift movement), also known as the Bloodless Revolution, was a voluntary land reform movement in India. It was initiated by Gandhian Vinoba Bhave in 1951 at Pochampally village, Pochampally The Bhoodan movement attempted to persuade wealthy landowners to voluntarily give a percentage of their land to landless people. Philosophically, Bhave was influenced by Sarvodaya movement and Gram Swarajya. Method Landless labourers were given the small plots that they could settle and grow their crops on. Bhoodan Acts were passed that stated that the beneficiary had no right to sell the land or use it for non-agricultural purposes or for forestry. Ravana
Ravana (; , , ) is a rakshasa king of the island of Lanka, and the chief antagonist of the Hindu epic ''Ramayana'' and its adaptations.
